Persona 5 Launches February 14th, 2017 In The West

The deluxe edition of Persona 5 was recently detailed over on the PlayStation Blog; in addition to Atlus officially announcing the game’s special edition, they also revealed that the release date for the Western release of the game would be February 14th, 2017.

Atlus PR manager John Hardin revealed that the PS4 exclusive “Take Your Heart” Premium Edition of Persona 5 would come jam packed with a specially designed steel book for the game disc, a school bag that’s a replica from the game, complete with a Shujin Academy crest on it; there’s a 64-page hardcore art book with concept sketches, characters and art from legendary artist Shigenori Soejima; there’s a four-inch plush Morgana doll, who is the in-game mascot for the “Phantom Thieves”; and then there’s the complete Persona 5 soundtrack with music composed by Shoji Meguro.

So how much will this “Take Your Heart” edition of the game run you? Well, try $89.99 on for size.

Of course, if you’re not into all that collectible stuff, you can still just get the basic game on the PS4 for $59.99. Additionally, Persona 5 is still coming to the PS3, it will be available for only $49.99 on Sony’s last-gen console.

As for why the game has been pushed into 2017, Atlus PR manager John Hardin explains that it has to do with the scope of the game, and that it’s grown over the years and they’re trying to make sure they squeeze in as much content as possible, explaining in the blog post…

“We’re making sure every bit is in place. Persona has exponentially grown as a franchise, and considering that this is our first numbered sequel since 2008, ATLUS is taking its time to ensure this is the best possible experience.”

Some gamers are already on the lookout for potential changes in the game, done for the sake of the appeasing the West. There’s been a flurry of punches pummeling gamers in the face in the form of censorship lately, and a lot of fans of certain series are becoming increasingly incensed with this increased infiltration of political correctness.

At this point, most gamers are hoping Persona 5 turns out well, but they will keep eagle eyes on every inch of the content to see if any of it is being unnecessarily censored… sort of like the female pelvic bones in Tokyo Mirage #FE.
