EA Sports UFC 3 Knockout Mode Features Snoop Dogg On Commentary

If you’re the kind of person who grew up listening to gangster rap during the 1990s and still wear your jeans down to your knees like Kriss Kross, then you’re probably excited to find out that Snoop Dogg hasn’t retired (yet) and is actually providing commentary for a game that seems like it should have absolutely nothing to do with Blood, Crips, east versus west rap, or bad trends from the 1990s.

The addition of Snoop Dogg was announced via a near minute-long trailer offering an audible sampling of what he sounds like commentating over the hits and knockouts featured in the game. He even takes an opportunity to mock Joe Rogan, who has pretty much become synonymous with the voice of the Octagon at the UFC over the years. You can listen below.

If you’re completely unconcerned with the commentary, you can always mute the video and just watch some of the hard hits present in EA Sports’ upcoming fighting game.

It’s funny because this game would make a great addition to the EVO line-up, but unfortunately it’s just so completely steeped in EA’s own culture of corporate-themed monetization methods and anti-tournament measures that it would be next to nigh impossible to properly make a tournament work properly. That’s not to mention that unlike a lot of other fighting games out there, EA forces weight restrictions on the game, so it’s not like you can take someone from a different weight class and pit them against each other.

But as far as gameplay is concerned, EA Sports UFC 3 plays somewhat better than EA Sports UFC 2.. at least the punches and kicks feel really, really impactful, so you don’t have to lob hundreds of punches at someone to see and feel the impact, finally.

EA also changed the controls around for the third time, hoping to make the gameplay feel more streamlined than the last two outings.

Strangely enough, this could be one of the few games coming out of EA’s wheel house that isn’t too heavily laden with SocJus propaganda. It’s a real marvel. Too bad it’s still a game made by EA and is filled with microtransactions and pay-to-win card packs.

EA Sports UFC 3 is due for release on February 3rd for PS4 and Xbox One.
