SoulCalibur VI Third Character Teased, CES Gameplay Revealed

(Last Updated On: January 18, 2018)

A new but sort of old image has appeared, teasing a portion of the third character who will be a part of the SoulCalibur VI roster. The teaser image was accompanied by some brand new CES 2018 gameplay footage. Bandai Namco is set to release SoulCalibur VI for PC and home consoles.

First up, a screenshot that has gone unnoticed for a while comes in thanks to YouTuber Dynasty, who pointed it out in the original reveal trailer at 0:58 — we get a glimpse of a third character.

Dynasty’s speculation video shouldn’t be taken as literal fact, given that he admits he doesn’t know everything. If you want to watch the video and hear his thoughts, the near ten minute video sits below.

The last video by another YouTuber has captured footage of SoulCalibur VI in action at CES, which around this time these images appeared as seen in the first video above:

The above images show options in the game’s main menu section. From here we can see that eight modes will be in the full game, one of which at the moment is playable and that happens to be “Battle”.

In “Battle” it looks like it leads to “Versus”. From here an options menu to change Player Vs. Player / Player Vs. CPU, Round Count, Battle Time, CPU Difficulty, and Battle Type can be seen.

You can view the captured CES gameplay of SoulCalibur VI right here thanks to UltraTien.

I’m sure official information about this will arrive sometime soon. In the meantime we do know that there will be new characters introduced in SoulCalibur VI thanks to producer Motohiro Okubo. These characters will be important to the “overall story”.

In addition to the above, the “Custom Character Creation” is a must to Okubo during an issue of Weekly Famitsu, so you can look forward to that feature in this iteration.

SoulCalibur VI is set to release across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
