Summer Lesson For PSVR Will Receive English Update For Additional Characters

Bandai Namco avoided localizing Summer Lesson for PlayStation VR gamers in the West. According to Katsuhiro Harada, they wanted to avoid getting tangled up in any sort of SJW backlash. The game did eventually receive an English update for the Southeast Asian version of the game, so those of you who purchased a digital version from the Southeast Asian PlayStation Store could play Summer Lesson with English subtitles… but only for one of the characters, Hikari Miyamoto.

Well, producer Jun Tamaoki revealed that English subtitles will be available for the other two characters in Summer Lesson for the Southeast Asian version of the game.

Siliconera spotted the news from a video update from Tamaoki who revealed that subtitles will be available for
Allison Snow and Chisato Shinjo at some point in 2018.

Tamaoki explained…

“Today, I’m excited to announce English language versions for Summer Lesson: Allison Snow and Summer Lesson: Chisato Shinjo!

“We aim to release these titles within the year, and we’re working hard behind the scenes to get everything ready.”

Tamaoki reaffirms that the first version of the game with English subtitles has already been made available in Asia, and that the other versions featuring Allison and Chisato offer slightly different experiences. Allison, for instance, is a female musician who is traveling the countryside. Chisato is the daughter of a wealthy and distinguished family, and acts like a “pampered princess”.

Players will be able to tutor each of the three girls… only in the Japanese and Southeast Asian versions of the game, though.

The three games will likely never come to the West in a full localized version due to the fact that Social Justice Warriors will likely complain to the high heavens about the games, similar to how they gave Koei Tecmo endless grief about the VR update for Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, calling it a sexual assault simulator.

Bandai Namco will update gamers at a later date on when the English patches for the Southeast Asian version of Summer Lesson will be made available.
