Top Hat Studios recently released Devious on the Steam store for $19.99. The first-person dungeon-crawling RPG contains a nasty little twist for those of you who like nice little R18+ surprises. In fact, while the Steam version may be censored from top to bottom, there is an uncensored patch you can download right now… for free.

The patch is only 167 bytes so basically it just unlocks the uncensored content that’s already packed into the full game on Steam.
That’s a real dangerous way of including uncensored content in a Steam game, because outfits like NCOSE lurk around the digital playground of 18+ games like an anti-#GamerGate critic in a white van with “Candy” scribbled on side while lurking around a playground in Croatia.
Anyway, in order to install the patch there’s a guide from SteamUncensored.
- Download the 167b file and then extract the contents.
- Copy over the file enable_hscenes.ini into the game’s Steam folder located at: /steamapps/common/Devious/
- Go into the game and open up the settings menu and if “SFW” is no longer visible in the settings then it means you now have the R18+ version of Devious that’s fully uncensored.
For those of you who aren’t aware of what Devious is about, the game combines real-time first-person dungeon crawling with visual-novel style storytelling. You’ll be able to collect weapons, unleash magic spells on enemies, and explore an old-school style DRPG while experiencing a story told through typical visual novel CGs.
You’ll be able to explore four different character stories that range between four and eight hours each, with a total gameplay time of 30 hours.
You’ll journey through more than 40 different levels. There’s also the typical uncensored naughty bits tucked away inside as you unravel the story and delve deep into each of the character’s stories.
