Koei Tecmo Chart Details Dead Or Alive 6 Deluxe, Pre-Purchase, Pre-Order Bonuses

Back in the day you used to buy a game get everything. You didn’t have to worry about paying monthly fees to unlock all of the content after the game releases. In the case of Koei Tecmo’s Dead or Alive 6, if you aren’t planning on getting the pre-order deluxe edition, expect to miss out on a few key items.

Koei released the new info via a tweet that detailed the different versions for the different platforms. This includes the standard edition, the digital edition, the physical edition, the pre-order bonuses and the deluxe edition.

As you can see, the physical pre-order comes with Nyotengu, one of the most popular and easily the sexiest character on the roster. The physical pre-order also comes with an alternate schoolgirl outfit for Kasumi, along with a limited edition steelbook that’s a GameStop exclusive.

If you digitally pre-order you get Nyotengu and the Kasumi outfit, along with the PS4 bonus theme. If you literally pre-purchase the game without pre-ordering you get the Kasumi alternate outfit. It doesn’t make a lot of sense that buying the game early somehow nets you less content than people who pre-order, but whatever.

Now if you digitally pre-order on the Xbox One instead of gaining access to the PS4 theme, you gain access to a retro green costume for Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden.

What’s interesting is that if you pre-purchase the game from Steam you gain the bonuses that you would otherwise gain if you pre-ordered the game physically for the PS4 or Xbox One. This includes the Nyotengu character and Kasumi’s outfit.

If you purchase a digital deluxe edition for the PS4, Xbox One, or on Steam, you gain access to the character Phase 4, 25 additional costumes, three additional music tracks, and yet another bonus outfit for Kasumi.

Your DOA Fighters are ready to step into the arena with new looks and new moves. Don’t forget that console pre-order bonuses at select retailers(Gamestop/Best Buy/ EB Canada/Amazon) include Nyotengu and an additional costume for Kasumi. https://t.co/Twb28G7jfZ #DOA6 pic.twitter.com/Bplbra9rg8

It’s pretty sad that you need a chart just to figure out what you’re buying these days. According to the Koei Tecmo America account the decision to have all these weird iterations of the game was handed down from the Japanese offices.

Gotta love how they passed the buck on this one.

It still doesn’t lessen the sting of producer Yohei Shimbori saying that making the girls have smaller breasts made them “more human”, or that he said they had to tone down the sexiness to match “world trends”, or that they needed to have less fan-service because it was “too exaggerated” in Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.

We’ll see how well Shimbori’s words come back to bite him on the butt when Dead or Alive 6 launches on February 15th, 2019 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
