Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 Update Adds Chaos Campaign, Free Single-Player Content

Focus Home Interactive and Tindalos Interactive announced that there’s a free single-player update for Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2. In addition to the free update the game is also receiving the addition of the Chaos campaign.

The DLC carries a $12.99 price tag and in addition to the campaign the single-player content includes all new secondary objectives for each of the campaign missions that are already available in the game. So this will give existing owners of the game more content to dive into even if they don’t purchase the new DLC.

However, if you do decide to make the plunge there’s additional mechanics that Tindalos added to the Chaos campaign, including the new corruption currency that the Chaos uses to repair ships, build new structures, and purchase items.

There’s also the Gift of Chaos, which is a tribute you’ll need to pay to the gods, which will allow you to spread a curse from the god to a system of your choosing. You’ll be able to acquire gifts from Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh, and Tzeentch. Once you reach rank 3 you’ll unlock secondary missions for the aforementioned gods as well. You can get a good look at the campaign courtesy of SurrealBeliefs.

The campaign itself will follow the galactic trek of Malos Vrykan, who started off as a Space Marine but became tempted by the lure of the Chaos and was reborn as the Lord of the Word Bearers.

After Arkrist Vane tempted Vrykan with unspeakable power he was driven to finish the Imperium. Players will need to amass their fleets and attempt to conquer planets and appease Vane’s desire for corruption.

The DLC should go live for everyone on June 24th. If you don’t already have the full version of the game it’s currently available on PC for $39.99 over on the Steam store. For more information on the DLC and the free single-player update feel free to visit the official website.
