Games Done Quick Introduces A Mascot And It Has Pronouns

Games Done Quick now has an official mascot called “Velocity”. This mascot was introduced on June 23rd, 2019 and the fictional animal hybrid was given pronouns. This is not a joke. Games Done Quick gave a fictional, non-real, anthro-animal pronouns.

Sankaku Complex picked up the news from a tweet made by the official Games Done Quick Twitter account, which revealed Velocity and some of its sketch artwork from artist LLK.

The tweet started off okay at first, with the account announcing that Velocity would debut during the Summer Games Done Quick, which will run between June 23rd and June 30th this year.

Notice something new on screen? We’d like to introduce to #SGDQ2019 our new mascot, Velocity! We’ll be showing the time-travelling raptor both on stream during the countdown and as Twitch emotes! Look out for Velocity more at future events, but we may not be done yet for SGDQ… pic.twitter.com/iXQgaxpjzb

The mascot looks like a cross between the Loony Tunes Roadrunner, that duck from Time Dominator and a rejected Calarts Sonic rival for an upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog game.

However, it was the follow-up tweet where things took a nasty turn, revealing that Velocity, the fictional mascot… has pronouns. Some even feared that the non-binary mascot might be gay as well.

Our new mascot Velocity does not have a gender and prefers the pronouns it/them!

Majority of the tweets were in support of Games Done Quick politicizing their mascot with identity politics, something that normal people don’t take kindly to… especially those who don’t eat, live, and breathe identitarianism on Twitter or Tumblr all day long.

You’ll see Velocity at all Games Done Quick events!

Thankfully there are a few people who are slightly pushing back against this invasion of identity politics ruining gaming.

Bro this is pretty cringe

Solid.

The verdict is still out on what Velocity’s sexuality is, but don’t be surprised if they make their mascot gay. It’s all the rage these days by identitarians, and something that many companies are doing to anger and frustrate the majority of gamers, comic book fans, and moviegoers alike, all in an attempt to further push their political agenda in favor of a tiny, fractional percentage of actual consumers.

Nevertheless, you can expect to see Velocity from now on throughout the Games Done Quick events. Don’t be surprised if there are new stories that will pop up about people getting banned from Twitch chat for criticizing the fictional mascot’s pronouns.
