iTunes Support For MacOS Coming To An End, Windows Version Is Safe... For Now

During the recent announcement of new services and tech from Apple, the company confirmed that iTunes would be coming to an end for MacOS devices and that three new software applications would be replacing it, specifically Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple TV.

Ars Technica is reporting that the iTunes discontinuation will only affect MacOS devices… for now. Windows users will not be impacted by this change just yet, and Apple will continue to keep iTunes functionality intact for Windows systems, for the time being.

So what happens to those Mac users who have been using iTunes? Well, there will be services setup to move over your playlists, podcasts, and music libraries into Apple Music and Apple Podcasts seamlessly.

This transition will begin to take place during the next major update for MacOS, as covered in a video by Music Business Advice over on YouTube.

However, as pointed out by Ars Technica, while the current plan is to phase out support for iTunes on MacOS and keep the Windows version intact, all of that is just for the interim. For now, the Windows version will continue to be supported but that could change in the near future.

To be honest, this is completely expected. After Steve Jobs passed away Apple has been about creatively directionless as a rudderless dingy trapped in shark infested waters, where the sharks are a bunch of Koreans and Chinese looking to gobble up what market share Apple has left on the mobile market. Until they get an actual creatively ingenuous “product guy” back at the helm of the company, they’ll continue to make missteps and become as creatively bankrupt as propaganda-laden corporations killing their own market like Electronic Arts or Google.

Snuffing out iTunes is just another step in the process of creating more noise in a market where they’re becoming less and less relevant with each new spyware set introduced by Huawei or each new explosive new handset iteration put out by Samsung. To be honest, iTunes going away was about as expected as Halsey’s latest relationship imploding. In the “all digital future” nothing lasts because there’s nothing to last, and eventually all these cloud-based services will go bust and take all of your digital libraries with them.

Just remember that in the age of digital consumerism controlled by a corporatocracy, physical media is your best friend.
