Kakao Games and Pearl Abyss announced that Black Desert will launch on the PlayStation 4 in the second half of summer on August 22nd, 2019 next month. Pre-orders for the game have already opened up for the action-oriented MMORPG. The game will also have 4K support for the PS4 Pro, but they didn’t say if it was native or checkerboard rendering. Given that they didn’t mention that it was native, it’s safe to assume it’s a 4K upscaling with checkerboard rendering.
They announced that there will be three different versions available for the game, including the standard version at $29.99, which comes with the base game, the 1,000 point pearl box and a snow wolfdog pet.
They tack on a few more items in the deluxe edition, which comes with a 60 day value package, 2,000 pearl points, a snow wolfdog, a tier 3 horse, and a Calpheon Chargers’ horse gear set.
Last and most expensive is the ultimate edition for $99.99, which comes with a 90 day value package, 3,000 pearls, a snow wolfdog, a white tier 5 horse, the Calpheon Chargers’ horse gear set, a Belle Ephoc wagon set, a Juniad pet cat, a signature classic set, a horse whistle, a maid, and 10 XP scrolls.
But none of that is including the pre-order bonuses.
They released a trailer highlighting the features you get if you pre-order Black Desert for the PS4 ahead of the August 22nd release date. This includes an in-game title and three Elion’s Tears for those who pre-order the standard edition. There’s 48 hours of early access and an exclusive shepherd pet for the deluxe edition pre-orders. And the ultimate edition contains everything from the first two versions along with a tier 2 Fogan monster pet, a Shudad outfit, and 10 Elion’s Tears.
Of course, all of this pre-order stuff doesn’t compensate for the fact that Kakao Games still censored the newest Shai class, and it’s unlikely that they will be uncensored until modders restore them to their original form.
Worse yet is that if you get the game on PS4 it means you completely miss out on any mods that could help undo the censorship, so it’s like the worst of all worlds.
Nevertheless, you can look for Black Desert to make its debut on the PS4 starting August 22nd next month.
