It looks like David Gaider and Liam Esler are looking to add on to the pile of woke companies by creating the new Australian-based studio Summerfall. As of now, not much is known about the upcoming studio, but the past of the two tell a lot about the future regarding Summerfall.
If you have no idea who Gaider is, according to publication site thetechnews.com back in 2016, he provided designs for Baldur’s Gate 2. He wrote the characters HK-47, Jolee Bindo and Carth Onasi for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
The website also reveals that Gaider has been a prominent voice about the role of inclusiveness in video games and has spoken on multiple panels regarding that very subject.
A recent piece by website gamesindustry.biz, reveals the second founder and managing director for Summerfall is Liam Esler. He worked at Beamdog from 2013 to 2016 and played a key role in the organization of Game Connect Asia Pacific and in bringing the GaymerX event to Australia.
With all of that said regarding Gaider and Esler, you can expect current year degeneracy from this upcoming Australian-based studio.
But that’s not all, Gaider took to Twitter to announce that Summerfall needs the help of gamers by funding a Kickstarter campaign for the studio’s first game:
Honestly, I can’t tell you how excited I’ll be to FINALLY be able to talk about the project and my team. The chance to involve you all in the process is really going to make this extra special, considering I’ve never done anything quite like this.

A similar sentiment lies over on summerfallstudios.com, which reads:
“We’re excited to announce the Kickstarter launch for Summerfall Studios’ first game, an illustrated character-driven adventure, at PAX Australia on October 11th, 10:30am AEST / October 10, 5:30pm PST. Live-streamed worldwide on Twitch.”
Lastly, this illustrated character-driven adventure game that will appear at PAX Australia on October 11th, 2019, will be accompanied by a Kickstarter campaign.
