Mooneye Studios’ Lost Ember launched on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and on the Steam store for PC. The game is like a mix of Ori and the Blind Forest, Okami and Legend of Zelda. Take note, though, this game is more Liberal propaganda. So if you’re not into indigenous lesbian love stories, you would probably do better finding a less agenda-driven game to play.
There’s a walkthrough guide made available by various YouTubers, including ArchShiranui. He covers the first three chapters of the game, which you can check out below.
After a hsort cinematic, a lost ember finds a black wolf and befriends him. Players will have to follow the ember down the ravine, through the pasture, and into a cave.
Once you interact with the amulet you’ll see a short cinematic about the wolf being Kalani, and being a lost ember who was banned from the city of light.
Examine the skeletal remains of the body and acquire the amulet.
Move further into the cave and wait for the ember to bring the two wombats out of the cave. Use the wolf’s ability to concentrate and possess one of the wombats on the other side of the cliff.
You can possess other animals using the ‘X’ button on the Xbox One or ‘Square’ on the PS4’s DualShock. You can make use of the animals’ abilities by pressing the left or right trigger.
Exit the cave and the game’s title will finally appear.
Make your way toward the tree on the hill.
There’s a hunter’s firestone located at the tree. Take it.
Head down the other side of the hill toward the fire. Interact with it.
After retrieving the memory, break through the barrier to access the next area.
You can take control of a little wombat and roll your way through the crevices and tight spots until you reach the next section.
Follow the memories until you reach the bandits dumping the barrels off the side of the cliff into the river.
Find the duck on the cliff’s edge and possess it. Use the duck to glide through the canyon and to the bottom of the cliff.
You’ll need to break the next barrier.
You’ll find another campfire in the dark part of the forest at the end of a river bend, which will reveal the bandit camp and another memory.
Once the memory is complete, head to the end of the barrier and break through.
You’ll be able to take control of a hummingbird inside of a nest.
Fly through the canyons and head down through the odd-shaped rock formations until you reach a shallow river marsh. Follow the marsh until you make it back to land and then there should be a stream of red flower patches. Follow the flowers through the ravine and up into the mountainous area that gets fairly dark.
There should be a toppled over tree in between two mountain ridges – head through the pathways until you reach a small waterfall tucked away in the mountain.
There’s a memory there you’ll need to discover and it will lead you along a path to the edge of the mountain.
Chapter II: Igniting The Fire
In a short cinematic it appears as if the wolf – when it was a human – was a lesbian, like all current year trash-fire hipster games made by Liberal pieces of crap.
Anyway, head down the mountain pathway until you reach the next memory, where Kalani receives the amulet from her father.
Carefully make your way across the log and along the edge of the cliff until you come across another duck. Possess it and traverse down and between the mountain gaps, through the places where the wolf couldn’t reach.
When you finally reach solid ground, switch back to the wolf and make your way to the red fire near the ruins.
Make your way up the remains of the steps and there’s a relic you can acquire.
On the next platform there’s another memory fire – you can get there by possessing one of the ducks at the top of the hill where you acquired the hammer.
The next memory is on the other side of a broken wall on one of the towering cliff communities. You’ll need to burrow underground to get to the other side.
Once you get to the other side and see the memory, it will break the surrounding barrier and you’ll be able to get to the next area.
Use the wombat to roll through the tight areas and crawl under the collapsed tunnel to make your way down into the area below.
Take control of the duck and fly across the chasms, following the red flowers.
When you reach the platform, transform back into the wolf and make your way around the bend down toward the fire memory.
You’ll need to take control of one of the animals that can burrow underground to get inside the cave, and then make your way up top to the plateau.
Possess a wombat and travel through the tunnel until you reach the other side.
Continue up the plateau until you reach the next red fire memory.
Take control of the armadillo and then burrow through the ground to get to the other side.
And then use the armadillo to break down the three glowing walls and this will force the pillar to collapse.
Use the wombat to make your way down the slope toward the hummingbirds and possess one.
In what’s probablyt the most intense segment of the game, you’ll need to dodge all the rocks, debris, and obstacles as you traverse down the pathway while being pushed by the wind.
Chapter III: The Calm Before The Storm
As depicted in the walkthrough by rubhen925, you’ll need to make your way to the tower in the distance.
Head down to the lake and possess one of the ducks. Fly up the pond toward the opening beyond the trees and examine the fire memory near the reeds.
Follow the spirit guide to the river and take over one of the fish.
Use the fish to swim under the rock and race down the river rapids.
You can jump with the fish by holding down ‘A’ on the Xbox controller or ‘X’ on the DualShock to power up the jump. Release the button to fly into the air and down the waterfall.
Follow the pathway all the way through the trenches toward the fire memory to reveal more clues about what happened.
Somehow Kalani’s dad was more okay with her being a lesbian than he was with the fact that she was rebelling against the emperor due to having a shortage of food and causing a lot of people to die of starvation and disease.
Anyway, head to the edge of the memory barrier and break through it.
You’ll need to possess a fish and move through the narrow crevices of the ruins to get inside.
Move through the sewer aqueducts until you reach the causeway.
Turn back into a wolf and head up the steps and out of the ruins.
Keep heading up until you finally exit the aqueducts and you’ll encounter Quilotasi, the Mother City.
Chapter IV: Close to the Sun
Follow the red flowers around the bend until you reach a flooded depression.
Go up the steps and around until you can get to the other side where the fire memory is located. You’ll need to possess a fish to activate the memory in the water. Go up top and there’s another memory you can access as the wolf.
There’s a third memory just behind the memory of the feast. Access it and then go and break through the memory barrier.
You’ll need to make your way up the stairs and access the memory in the kennel, which eventually leads up the steps toward the temple.
