NWA Powerrr Censors Jim Cornette's Commentary Following Complaints

Everything is “racist”, “sexist”, and “bigoted” these days according to frail-hearted Liberals and sensitive-gutted Lefties. Every single little thing triggers them to the point where they attempt to “cancel” who or whatever they believe is responsible for their micro-aggression. In the latest episode of pointless kerfuffles and trivial consternation, long-time booker and color commentator, Jim Cornette, was dragged through the digital tar pit of Twitter after the Social Justice whiners took offense to a chuckle-worthy analogy that Cornette used at the beginning of the match between Trevor Murduch and NWA champion Nick Aldis.

It started with the commentary on Tuesday night, November 19th, 2019. During the collar and elbow tie-up between Murdoch and Aldis, Cornette put-over Murdoch’s toughness by saying that he could drive through Ethiopia with a bucket of chicken on his back on a moped and come out all right.

During the livestream of the match users began posting to Twitter their disgust and offense, including Billy Hawkins, a contributor to Pro Wrestling Torch, who shared the clip online.

As more users began sharing Cornette’s color commentary, more and more of the Left-leaning wing of Twitter (which is practically all of it) started going in on Cornette, which resulted in his name trending on Tuesday night… for all the wrong reasons.

Liberal wrestling personalities began criticizing Cornette for what they called a “gaff”, and the more extreme Leftists began calling Cornette “racist”.

It wasn’t long after that the NWA vice president and executive producer of NWA Powerrr, David Lagana, was pulled into the fold, and on November 20th, 2019 he bent the knee to the outrage brigade by stating that they were pulling the episode down while they corrected the “error”.

On tonight’s episode of NWA Powerr airing on November 19th 2019, one of our talents made comments which some viewers found offensive. We deeply regret the error and apologize.

We have temporarily taken the program down while we correct this error.

As reported by F4W Online, the original taping was pulled and they re-uploaded an edited version of Episode 7, “The Phoenix Rises” to YouTube.

If you watch the episode you’ll note that at the 7:43 mark just after the handshake, Cornette comments about Aldis not taking the match as seriously as he should, and as they tie-up, he begins to explain how tough Murdoch is, but instead of leaving the phrase in, it’s now edited out. There’s just silence. However, you can catch the last part of Cornette’s commentary and the word “Ethiopia” before the sound for the commentary team is brought back up.

This kind of gross display of kowtowing to censorship-happy cretins and weak-willed millennials is part of what’s destroying the fabric of America.

The nation wasn’t built on the backs of weaklings and the brittle bones of babies.

Strong men built up America by the sweat of their brow and through the toil of their fortitude.

Yet now we see that even pro-wrestling is being subjugated to the coddling foisted upon our society by people too small and shivery to laugh at a goodhearted comparison.

YesMovement from KotakuInAction2 also pointed out that this wasn’t even the first time that Cornette used that saying.

He’s drawn from that well at least twice before, back in the 1980s and 1990s.

#NWAPowerrr wasn’t the first time Jim Cornette made the fried-chicken-Ethiopia joke. Here’s a clip from March 6th, 1995. pic.twitter.com/h3APMzGHl3

On the upside, Cornette refused to apologize and stuck to his guns. A day after the event transpired he quit NWA Powerr, as reported by TMZ.

The company issued a statement regarding Cornette’s departure, saying…

“Effective immediately: Jim Cornette has resigned from the National Wrestling Alliance. As an announcer on the November 19th edition of NWA Power, Jim made remarks during a singles match between Nick Aldis and Trevor Murdoch that were both offensive and do not meet the high standards of decency and good faith of the National Wrestling Alliance.”

“To ensure that such an error can never happen again, we’ve established new procedures of review for all NWA programming going forward.”

“We sincerely regret our failure in this regard.”

Disgusting.

This basically goes to show that people back in the 80s and 90s were a lot less pathetic than the internet-addicted fops that flounder and fish for attention in today’s wrestling community.

Worse yet is that the NWA raised the white flag and bowed to the pressure from these cowardly cretins, which is more pathetic than the Senegalese bowing to war-prone losers like the French.
