A small team of Brazilians are working on a brand new card game called The XX War. Alexandre Grilo Neves, Gustavo Bechtold and Eduardo Longo are currently working on the game and hoping to get the funding necessary to bring it to fruition.
They originally tried to garner support for the project through the traditional retail and board game community within Brazil, but Bechtold explained that things did not go over well for them at all, but they did find refuge among the Otaku…
“Before we thought about the campaign we introduced it to the board game and game retail community here and it was a disaster, a bunch of PC and SJWs backlashing our idea, even going to the extreme of calling us rapists, but in the end we realized the game was not for these guys so we looked at the otaku community in our region and the reception has been overwhelming, 100% of these people wanted a copy of the game after playing it so we felt confident to create a crowdfunding campaign.”
They just recently put up the crowdfunding page on Catarse.me.
It’s gained more than R$ 3,620 from 28 people and it’s already 72% complete. They’re hoping to achieve R$ 5,000 over the course of the next 32 days.
So they’re well on their way to achieving their goal. You can check out the 44 second pitch video below to get an idea of what the harem trading card game is like.
The object of the game is to collect hotties and become the best harem master in the region.
You’ll have to battle against other pimps in two through four-player tabletop battles involving cards and dice.
You’ll use the ecchi-style cards to strategically overthrow your opponents by laying the smack down on them; different combinations of the lascivious-themed waifus will be required to come out victorious during each battle.
The hook for the game is that it contains some amazingly seductive visuals from South Korean artist Free Style and Brazilian illustrator Natália Zimmermann.
I’m pretty sure that this tabletop card game is going to blast past its crowdfunding goal. With just over a month to go and already at 72% completion, it looks like the South American weebs are coming out of the woodwork to help support these anti-censorship creators.
They’re expecting to get the whole thing wrapped up and shipped to backers by spring of 2020. If you’re interested in supporting The XX War, you can do so by visiting the Catarse.me crowdfunding page.
