Cyborg Mechanic, Gory Sci-Fi Simulator Targeting 2021 Launch

Polish publisher Games Operators announced that they have a new gory simulator on the horizon called Cyborg Mechanic. The sci-fi sim is a long ways off from release, targeting a 2021 launch window, but an announcement trailer was made available to give gamers an idea of what to expect from the upcoming title.

Most games that claim to be for adults oftentimes contain plenty of nudity, sex, or foul language. However, in this case, the major content warning label centers around the game’s graphic detail of modifying, replacing, upgrading, and removing body parts from client’s in explicit and bloody detail.

It’s definitely not a game for the visually squeamish.

This seems like the kind of cyberpunk game that gives you a very different view of what augmentations would really be like on the black market. Dark, gory, bloody, and completely stomach-churning.

I think a lot of times when we think about cyberpunk fanfare we indulge in the romantic aspect of the dystopian fiction rather than the reality of what it would really be like.

Cyborg Mechanic strips away the fantasy and gives you more of a nitty-gritty take on what it would be like stepping into the shoes of someone tasked with repairing, upgrading, and replacing cyborg body parts.

The description of the game seems to sum its premise quite well, where it explains…

“Become a cyborg surgeon mechanic in a shady and absurd cyberpunk underworld. Repair burnt-out circuits, modify limbs, perform complex surgeries, and craft better equipment for your clientele. Remember that augmenting an organic body with mechanical parts is risky and can result in augmentation rejection or even death. To top it all off, most of your clients are disreputable individuals with an extensive criminal record. This fact makes your business suspicious to the authorities, who won’t stop bothering you and asking you questions. Make your one-person operation thrive and increase its popularity to keep a steady flow of customers and cash. But beware of the police putting you on their radar. “

You’ll have a wide variety of clients to tend to, ranging from some who will simply want augmentations, others who will want to repair damaged parts, or some who are desperately in need of medical attention.

If the gameplay pace and visuals match the tone of the themes then Cyborg Mechanic could very readily carve out a niche audience for itself.

You can look for Tomula Games and Games Operators title to launch at some point in 2021. In the meantime you can wishlist the game over on the Steam page to stay up to date on further developments and news.
