Campo Santo’s In The Valley Of Gods made waves in all the wrong ways when it originally made its promotional debut at The Game Awards back in 2017. A lot of gamers saw it as propaganda for pushing ethnic lesbianism, which led to Campo Santo disabling the comments on the trailer. Well, now they’ve had to admit that development on the first-person adventure game has been put on hold as they work on Half-Life: Alyx for Valve and manage some duties on Steam.
DualShockers picked up the news from another outlet after Campo Santo co-founder Jake Rodkin sent the media a message that read…
“To fans looking forward to In the Valley of Gods, it’s probably clear that the optimistic “2019” at the end of the announcement trailer isn’t going to be accurate. In the end, Valve Time makes fools of us all. But yes, developers from the former Campo Santo team have joined other projects at Valve, including Half-Life: Alyx. As you can imagine, our experience in the first-person adventure genre is pretty relevant. You hear a lot about how at Valve you can work on what you want. It turns out that’s true, and there’s a lot of work available. As we integrated ourselves into Valve it became clear there was a lot of valuable work to be done on Half-Life: Alyx. Some of us starting lending a hand, and have since become full-time on the project as it approaches launch. Similarly, some ex-Campos are working on Dota Underlords, some are on Steam, and so on. So to answer your question as of today, In the Valley of Gods development is on hold—but it certainly feels like a project people can and may return to. And when that happens, we’ll find an exciting way to let fans know.”
DualShockers and Rodkin both make it known that the game isn’t dead… yet.
However, it’s a game made for no viable target audience.
There is no marketable demographic begging for a game like In The Valley of Gods.
In fact, most real gamers derided the concept as more Liberal fart-sniffing, to which Campo Santo founder, Sean Vanaman, fired back at naysayers, saying that the game wasn’t about black lesbians. He attempted to correct the record by claiming that the two black female leads, Zora and Rashida, weren’t a “romantic couple”.
However, given the way almost all major media has been depicted in recent years, when you see two unattractive black females in a game, comic book, or movie, you instantly know that it’s Liberal propaganda, and to expect that they’re going to be lesbians.
Heck, the comic book Crowded is about a black lesbian. The market aptly responded by not buying it and pirating the first issue, causing it to end up on the Get Woke, Go Broke Master List.
In any case, after Valve purchased Campo Santo back in April of 2018, they’ve been diligently working on Half-Life: Alyx, the game about a half-and-half freedom fighter who uses a VR gimmick to fight back against invaders of Earth.
For most real gamers, hearing that In The Valley Of Gods is on indefinite hold is probably a good thing. Then again, if they were working on that game instead of possibly being behind the Waifu Holocaust 2.0 shenanigans, maybe it would be better if they dedicated their time to work on their Liberal wet dream project rather than depriving gamers of their entertainment.
