It's Very Easy To Develop Software For The PS5, Claims Shuhei Yoshida

Shuhei Yoshida was once the head president of SIE Worldwide Studios, and now he’s the lead indie development initiative within Sony Interactive Entertainment. Given that the PS5 is due out in 2020, several devs in the games industry have come forth to talk about the next-gen console, and with Yoshida happens to be one of them. He claims that it’s very easy to develop software for the PS5.

The house of policy and making sure your favorite waifu is covered up either by strange glowy lights or something else is working on the next-gen console as we speak.

I’m sure you’ve seen patents popping up showing that the PS5 controller is taking shape, but right now, a select amount of devs can develop games or software for the console as per Yoshida.

Website gamingbolt.com cites Yoshida saying that the upcoming 2020 device will offer devs the option to “easily develop” software for the console in that it won’t be a pain to port or do anything else.

Reportedly, the console will be even easier to make software and stuff for the PS5 than the PS4.

Anyway, here’s what the website has up regarding Yoshida and the PS5:

““[The ease] of making software [for the PS5] is at a level never [seen before],” Yoshida said. “If the difficulty of hardware becomes the hurdle to overcome, [developers can’t] concentrate on making games. Anyway, hardware makes it easier to create games so you can spend more time creating games.

Yoshida also added that the PS5 has been designed to be developer-friendly just like the PS4 was, but to an even greater extent.”

The publication site also makes mention that developer Bluepoint Games — behind games like Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Titanfall, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Gravity Rush Remastered, and Shadow of the Colossus — is working on a PS5 game, while Gearbox Software and Counterplay Games are planning on releasing Godfall as a PS5 launch title.

We’ll see if Yoshida’s words hold any weight when the PS5 launches with the aforesaid games by Bluepoint Games and Gearbox Software. Additionally, when 2020 rolls around, we’ll learn if developing for this system is “very easy.”
