Some developers are still capable of releasing Adults Only titles on Steam, despite Valve banning multiple visual novels from Asian developers over the last couple of weeks (some of which were submitted as all-ages titles). Amazingly Software House Parsley and Otaku Publishing, along with FAKKU, managed to get the ‘M’ rated version of True Love ’95 released on Steam recently as an Adults Only title.
It’s interesting that the game was tagged as such even though it has an ESRB rating of ‘M’ for Mature, yet games like Grand Theft Auto V don’t have the Adults Only rating even though it contains plenty of nudity and explicit, graphical sex scenes.
You can get an idea of what the gameplay is like for the PC-98 dating simulator courtesy of YouTuber RisenChudJr.
The game is described as taking place during the senior year of college, where you’ll need to meet and get it on with some beautiful ladies, all in hopes of eventually proposing and living a decent life with your waifu until you find someone younger and prettier during a midlife crisis.
But I digress.
You’ll need to manage your time, alter your personality, and attempt to accommodate the different desires and character traits of the girls that best suit your fancy.
The game is currently available on the Steam store for $9.99, but most people who aren’t fond of Valve’s sociopolitical censorship doled out by the “Taste Police” are keen to suggest acquiring the game from other outlets if you do want to get your hands on a copy.
You’ll find that True Love ’95 is also available over on Abandonwaredos.com, which is the version made by Spectrum Holobyte and published by Jast USA.
Sadly due to licensing issues you’ll have a hard time trying to find a legitimate copy of the game to purchase from online retailers, which is a shame because it means Valve runs a monopoly on some of these titles that are only available on their storefront.
