Utherverse's Red Light Center VR Sex World Now Accepts PumaPay Cryptocurrency

Paying for porn just got a heck of a lot more cryptic. The Cyprus-based PumaPay announced that they’ve teamed up with Utherverse to allow users of Red Light Center to make use of the cryptocurrency for payments.

The new payment option is part of the PullPayment Protocol, which is a cryptobilling solution that bypasses the traditional payment processing merchants, many of whom are still deplatforming people under the FDIC’s unconstitutional use of the Operation Choke Point protocol, a measure that was supposed to be disbanded but never was.

This new payment method means that it’s possible to make purchases in adult games like Red Light Center without worrying about using your traditional credit card or bank account. You can slap some funds on your PumaPay account and pay through there.

Brian Shuster, the CEO of Red Light Center, commented about the partnership, mentioning in the press release…

“We chose PumaPay because we wanted a payment system that offers flexibility, speed, cost savings, and transparency. PumaPay’s payment system, adapted to Red Light Center’s business logic, is both loth ingenious and convenient, and paves the way for blockchain technology to transform the payments sector.”

PumaPayment also boasts having secure, encrypted processing so that every transaction goes throughout without users having to worry about interceptions or identity theft.

While most gamers are probably ambivalent towards this kind of news, the reality is that this is actually a good first step in stepping away from the traditional payment processor model that currently dictates how consumers are able to pay for digital goods.

There are some cryptocurrencies out there that are slowly being adopted by some merchants, but it’s not really widespread. If we can see more cryptocurrencies being made available as payment options for adult games, then we might see a proper boom of adult-oriented VR titles and marketplaces that host said games. Why is that significant? Well, it could mean broader options for adult game makers and visual novel artists to spread their wares across more storefronts and not have to solely rely on the inconsistent and opaque rules rolled out by Valve and their censorious taste police.
