PlatinumGames Says To Expect Both Big And Small Announcements Throughout 2020

We already know that PlatinumGames is working on Bayonetta 3 and that development on said game is going well. However, it looks like 2020 will bring more to fans in that both “big and small” announcements are to be made this year as per company president Kenichi Sato and representative studio head Atsushi Inaba.

I’m sure fans dying to quench their thirst regarding Bayonetta 3 are finding all this talk from PlatinumGames to be somewhat reassuring in that the game will release one day for the Nintendo Switch. However, more games will likely keep folks company if Sato and Inaba are to be trusted in a New Year’s talk with Inside Games.

Thanks to website siliconera.com, we have an idea as to what the two are saying in the New Year’s segment. The former of the pair explains that last year the team did not deliver as quickly as they would have liked, but that will change in 2020. Additionally, since Japan will host the Olympics, PlatinumGames wants to go all-out and get the attention of fans around the world:

“Last year, we said that 2019 would be a year where the curtain rises for a new stage for PlatinumGames. We’re a bit late on that, but I believe we’ll have several big announcements to deliver early in the new year, so please look forward to that. That’s a promise I’ll definitely keep [laughs].

This year is the year the Tokyo Olympics will be held. I believe everyone around the world will be watching Japan. As a game studio representing Japan, this year we here are PlatinumGames are looking to go all-out, to get attention from fans around the world, and bring smiles to everyone.”

Sato’s partner in crime, Inaba, later chimed in to express that the games industry is challenging each year and that PlatinumGames will still be around.

Inaba believes the team will continue to push out many announcements that are both “big and small” throughout this year accompanied by new challenges:

“In the games industry where each year is a challenge, I’m immensely grateful to head into yet another year with PlatinumGames.

Starting early on in the year, I believe we’ll continue to roll out various announcements, big and small, throughout the year.

The company, as well as me personally, will continue taking on new challenges, and I want to give it everything we’ve got.”

The good news is that PlatinumGames will share more information on Babylon’s Fall this summer, according to the gameplay trailer shown during The Game Awards 2019. So I guess around E3 2020 and Gamescom 2020, we should see more from the team.
