Fairy Tail Release Date Delayed To June 25th, 2020

The last time we reported on Koei Tecmo and Gust’s Fairy Tail game was back in late 2019 when producer Keisuke Kikuchi said that he won’t shy away from fan-service content. Although Fairy Tail will be for fans, it won’t ship on its original release date due to a delay.

In other words, if you want to play the upcoming JRPG, expect to get your hands on it come June 25th, 2020.

We know this thanks to Koei Tecmo posting up a notice explaining when fans can play Fairy Tail, which happens to be the date mentioned above:

The release date for Fairy Tail has been changed to the 25th June 2020.

If you can’t read the announcement via the tweet that Koei Tecmo sent out to fans, gamers, and stakeholders, the first paragraph expresses that the team is sorry for delaying the JRPG and that this extra time is used for polishing Fairy Tail.

The second paragraph makes mention of the team working to make sure that stuff like magic effects, event scenes, gameplay balance, and other in-game content that players will be experiencing is up to par.

The good news is that Koei Tecmo and crew will release more info in the coming months. This means that likely in an update stream or some other form of media use, we’ll hear from the team on what this new version of Fairy Tail has to offer.

What we know so far is that playable characters such as Gajeel Redfox and Juvia Lockser are joining the previously announced cast of Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet, and Wendy Marvell.

Hopefully, this game won’t face any form of censorship post-launch, but time will tell. In the meantime, Fairy Tail will launch for PC, PS4, and Switch on June 25th, 2020.
