SNK Corporation sent out a reminder that Samurai Shodown is ripe and ready for release on the Nintendo Switch for anyone that forgot about its release on February 25th, 2020. The game features babes, big boobs, buff guys, blood, and plenty of entertainment value for those looking to dive head-first into a beautifully rendered redo of the classic 2D fighting game from the Neo Geo era.
You can pick up a digital or physical copy for only $49.99, a $10 difference from the SRP for most Switch games. In celebration of the game’s launch, there’s also a 15% off discount on the season pass for Samurai Shodown between February 25th and March 17th, so you still have some time to get in on the deal if you plan on purchasing the additional DLC characters.
For everyone who pre-purchased the game they received Samurai Shodown 2 for free, and for everyone who pre-ordered the physical edition they received a free controller skin.
As depicted in the trailer, new and old fighters alike from the franchise will be playable both in TV mode and portable mode for the Nintendo Switch, allowing gamers who are constantly on the go to keep the fighting spirit close to their heart by carrying it in their palms.
Yasuyuki Oda, the lead producer on the game, was particularly excited about the release, offering his own comments in the press release about the Switch version, saying…
“SAMURAI SHOWDOWN on Nintendo Switch gives fans the chance to pick up a Joy-Con and Crescent Moon Slash their enemies to pieces from anywhere on the planet. We can’t wait to witness a fresh group of warriors slice their way to victory as the game’s original roster of icons and brand new Season Pass characters.”
Speaking of the season pass characters… we know that the lovely Mina and the buxom Iroha are coming to the stable of characters, along with Sogetsu, but we don’t know who the fourth mystery character is. That person will be revealed at a later date… possibly at this year’s EVO set to take place between July 27th and August 2nd in Las Vegas, Nevada? We’ll find out.
For now you can get your hands on Samurai Shodown for the Nintendo Switch either via a local retailer or from the Nintendo eShop.
