Earthworm Jim creator Doug TenNapel recently livestreamed an update on some of the projects he’s been working on and noted that the team who worked on the live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movie have apparently shown interest in movie adaptations for Earthworm Jim and Bigfoot Bill.
The news comes courtesy of the man himself, where he tweeted out on February 18th, 2020 that he would be discussing the news on YouTube.

There’s absolutely nothing set in stone right now, so just because producers are showing Interest in a project or multiple projects doesn’t mean anything will come out of it. In fact, TenNapel talks about the lengthy process it takes for the slow gears of Hollywood to get the wheels in motion to actually bring a project to fruition. He gives a rough estimate of between four to six years, given all the legal wrangling, rights issues, and then finally the actual process of getting the project(s) into production.
Basically after the live-action Sonic The Hedgehog film managed to beat the feminist-themed Birds of Prey at the box office, the producers are apparently riding high and looking to cash in on more family-friendly IP fodder, and they set their sites on the old TeNnapel staples that have seen a resurgence in recent years thanks to crowdfunding platforms such as Kickstarter and IndieGoGo. In fact, the Earthworm Jim comic was one of the recent successes on IndieGoGo thanks to #ComicsGate, the consumer revolt against the corrupted corporate comic book establishment.
The property is also planned to make an exclusive appearance on the new Intellivision console, which caused the Cornhole Commissars to throw a conniption on social media over Doug TenNapel’s involvement with the project.
Given that Doug TenNapel is a real American and a loving family man, he’ll likely attempt to ensure that his properties aren’t perverted by the Hollywood woke machine. We all know what they would do to a new Earthworm Jim movie if it were to get made; Queen Bee would be turned into a strong lesbian woman who don’t need no man, and Earthworm Jim would be turned into a cowering simp with a gay sidekick.
Anyway, if things work out then maybe this could end up being a case of redpills paying bills. We’ll keep you posted on if anything comes out of this or if it evolves into more than just talks.
(Thanks for the news tip CZ)
