Cloud Meadow Devs Say “Futa” Is Offensive And Used For “Hate Against Trans People”

Some visitors have been wondering why I’ve been reviewing older games on the site lately, usually playing stuff made a decade or so ago. Well, it’s because as I say in the opening paragraph for those reviews: [current year] developers are pozzed.

Team Nimbus proves that point with an embarrassing interaction with customers, where they claim that the term “futa”, short for “futanari”, meaning a hermaphrodite, is “offensive” and is used to perpatuate “hate against trans people”.

This is no joke. In a forum thread made on March 1st, 2020 by a gamer interested in the game’s romance options, and whether there would be “intersex” or “genderfluid” options, one of the team members from Team Nimbus responded with the following statement…

“There is an intersex monster, the Crab, who has both sets of equipment, and a physically genderfluid monster, the Chimera, who can switch between them at will.

“We prefer folks to not use the term ‘futa’ rather than the term ‘intersex’ as the former term has been used as a term of hate against trans people. So please refrain from using it if you can, there’s perfectly acceptable terms that won’t cause folks to feel offended.”

When normal people began correcting the developer about their ignorance regarding futa content, the developer chickened out and locked the thread.

Anyone expecting otherwise from a game themed around the aberrant hierarchy of Tumblr’s concept of romance and sex needs a good slap to the face from a frozen tuna straight out of the Tsukiji fish market.

Cloud Meadow looked like the kind of game that was designed for all the mentally ill people that congregate on Twitter. Heck, just check out the trailer below, where they give the male character a bulge in his overalls.

This is similar to when those crazy people on Twitter started claiming that the word “trap” was somehow “transphobic”, and tried to get the game Trap Shrine deplatformed from Steam. These people won’t stop until all your fun is quarantined in a tiny box of regressive politics and censorship.

Anyway, Cloud Meadow is available right now in Early Access on Steam.

Expect the usual suspects to come out in support of the developers, attempting to reorient the word “futa” to mean something offensive just so they can get people banned from social media or the Steam forums.
