Command And Conquer Remastered Collection Set To Release June 5th, 2020

One thing that probably won’t be affected by the coronavirus anytime soon is Electronic Arts’ remastered version of Command & Conquer, which is being handled by Petroglyph, Lemon Sky Studios, and some of the key members from Westwood Studios, the original developers of the iconic RTS series. EA announced that Command & Conquer Remastered Collection will release on June 5th, 2020.

They recently rolled out a new featurette video containing nearly four minutes of all the content they have jam packed into the collection.

It will include two base games, Command & Conquer and Command & Conquer: Red Alert, along with three additional expansion packs that include Command & Conquer: The Covert Operation, Command & Conquer: Red Alert – Counterstrike, and Command & Conquer: Red Alert – The Aftermath.

You can check out the full video below, which covers everything else they have included in the package.

I know not everyone was a fan of the new farmed-out assets, but they will support resolutions of up to 4K, and if you’re more of a purist you can use an in-game toggle to switch back to the old assets from the original games.

Both EA and Petroglyph have also implemented matchmaking via an overhauled multiplayer mode, along with the ability to create custom rooms, search games via a multiplayer list, or compete via in-game ranked matches.

They also promised back in late 2018 that Command & Conquer Remastered Collection would not contain any microtransactions. How true that is remains to be seen, but based on the video above they seem to be adamant on doing what they can to actually make money by winning over true fans.

They also brought back the original composer, Frank Klepacki, to compose more than seven hours of music, including bonus tunes, and they even lobbed in an in-game jukebox so you can pick and choose what you want to listen to when you want to listen to it.

Behind-the-scenes footage, Easter Eggs, and upscaled FMV sequences are also all part of the package. You can look for Command & Conquer: Remastered Collection to go live on June 5th, 2020 over on the Steam store and Origin.
