Disney has announced that all their major live-action projects that were currently in production have been halted due to the coronavirus. This includes the Home Alone remake, The Last Duel, Nightmare Alley, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Additionally, filming that was set to take place in London for the live-action reboot of the race-swapped Little Mermaid film was also thankfully halted.
ComicBook.com picked up the news, relaying to audiences that the house of the Mouse is feeling the pinch from the deadly embrace of Corona-chan.
The Hollywood Reporter also relayed that films such as Peter Pan & Wendy and the film Skunk have also been halted.
Disney issued a statement about the postponements, saying…
“While there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on our productions, after considering the current environment and the best interests of our cast and crew, we have made the decision to pause production on some of our live-action films for a short time. We will continue to assess the situation and restart as soon as feasible.”
The Hollywood Reporter also noticed that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton apparently went into self-isolation, which meant that he could have been infected with the virus.
This comes after Disney had to axe the premieres for Mulan, New Mutants and Antlers.
So far news reports are indicating that Black Widow and Artemis Fowl are still on the docket for release throughout May.
However, if the situation doesn’t improve rapidly (and it doesn’t look like it is), Black Widow could also be impacted, thus causing
Disney to bleed a lot of money. One would hope they would take this as a sign to stop their perverted ways; to forfeit their disruption of the market with their regressive propaganda and Left-wing degeneracy. However, CEO Bob Chapek has already promised that despite these hardships hitting Disney, they will continue to force-feed regressive “diversity” politics into their films.
