Gab Search Engine Enter Beta Testing To Eventually Rival Google

A lot of people are tired of Big Tech’s censorious ways. It’s become overbearing and quite frankly exhausting. You have to jump through hoops to find basic information and Silicon Valley has gone out of their way to suppress information, hide statistics, remove results for certain queries, and basically push certain views to the top in order to indoctrinate people. Well, Gab has been working on an alternative and have announced that their very own proprietary search engine has entered into beta testing.

In the recent newsletter Gab explained…

“Gab Search results include left, right, center, mainstream, independant, and alternative news sources to help you see what the entire media landscape has to say about different topics. Gab Search is built into Gab Trends, so you can leave a comment on any news story and see what other people are saying about it too.

“Try searching terms like: “Trump” “election” “Sanders” “Biden” or “coronavirus” to see the top, latest, and trending news on a given search.”

You can check out the search right now by visiting the Trends.Gab.com/Search/ page to test out the search engine and see if you can find the kind of news you’re looking.

Now this doesn’t mean that Gab is the savior of search engines.

We’ve seen them in the past come down hard against lewding lolis and porn, and showing that they do have limits on what they consider to be free speech.

However, there really are no other better alternatives at the moment other than maybe Yandex and Yippy.

Sadly DuckDuckGo seems to anchor a lot of their search results on what’s provided by Google, and Yahoo! is a mess.

Bing isn’t bad for certain kinds of searches, but since September of 2019 they also purged a lot of their search results keeping in lock-step with Google’s updated algorithm.

You can always give the Gab search engine a test run to see how well it works. If it gives you results that would otherwise be hidden from Google then at least it could prove to be a decent alternative to the monopoly that Alphabet is running at the moment.
