SiN: Gold Re-Released On Steam And GOG With Uncensored Game Assets

Nightdive Studios and Ritual Entertainment re-released the original SiN: Gold on Steam recently, and it’s also still available for purchase on GOG.com.

Back in the late 1990s, there was a string of sci-fi shooters that came out, many of which found themselves being ignored or overlooked as Half-Life took gaming by storm. SiN was one of those games. However, Nightdive decided to give it a little tender, love and care recently as they’ve been cleaning up their AppIDs on Steam and decided to upgrade the original SiN to SiN: Gold.

They announced over on the Steam forums that some of their games would temporarily be unavailable for purchase as they made the switch over to the new AppID setup. However, gamers won’t have to wait to get their hands on SiN: Gold, which is available over on the Steam store for $9.99.

During the first week of (re) release, the game is discounted by 20% off, so you can get your hands on it for only $7.99. The deal was also extended to the GOG.com store, where it’s also marked down by 20% off, even though it’s been available on the DRM-free storefront since 2014.

Visually the game has the same sort of blocky, low-poly look and feel as many other games that came out during that time, especially Perfect Dark 64 and Quake II.

The gold edition contains all of the expansion packs, along with the ability to edit the SDK, and support for higher resolutions at 16:9 ratios for widescreens.

Interestingly enough, the SiN: Gold re-release also contains all of the restored and uncensored game assets, which is a nice gesture from Nightdive and Ritual Entertainment, especially during these tumultuous times where gamers are being oppressed by censorship fanatics.

As mentioned, you can get your hands on SiN: Gold right now from either on the Steam store or DRM-free from the GOG.com store.
