Electronic Arts has a new game brewing and will more than likely serve as the publisher. While the developer is unknown at this point, thanks to a recent leak, info on Star Wars: Project Maverick is currently up for your reading pleasure.
What’s known about Star Wars: Project Maverick is its splash art, what state it’s in, whether or not it supports PSVR, and if it’s a multiplayer game. We know this thanks to Twitter user PSN Releases.
The unannounced Star Wars game, better known as Project Maverick, made its appearance first on the PlayStation Store in Europe, and its info was made public by said Twitter user.
Luciano Ciccariello, the guy that happens to be over the PSN Releases Twitter account, was asked by a fellow user to provide the game’s PlayStation Store ID. The good news is that Ciccariello did offer the info up on Twitter by directing the user to ps4database.io.
Website techradar.com offers a deeper look into the situation by providing some context to the above ID information.
Firstly, the content ID title is said to suggest that this build of Star Wars: Project Maverick is a beta test version.
Secondly, if you are a fan of PSVR and wish to take whatever this Star Wars game is for a virtual reality spin, know that said game won’t feature support at launch.
Thirdly, the “Play Together” number sits at five, which is said to mean multiplayer is supported.
Furthermore, although I’m not fond of him, it looks like Jason Schreier is reporting that this Project Maverick game isn’t a “big project.” Website techradar.com cites Schreier noting that the game is a “smaller and unusual project.”
With all of that said, no release date or other platforms (besides PS4) have been announced as of this writing. However, I’m sure EA will fix that sometime in Q2 or Q3 2020.
