In late February the Association For U.K. Interactive Entertainment announced their #RaiseTheGame initiative, which mandates that those who pledge to become part of the initiative will meet certain standards when it comes to promoting “diversity” and “inclusion” when it comes to employment and product design. One of those companies that pledged to the UKIE’s initiative was Microsoft.
Over on the official Xbox website there’s a page dedicated to talking about how Xbox has joined with Electronic Arts, Facebook, Jagex, and King in promoting the #RaiseTheGame diversity initiative by UKIE.
The pillars of said initiative are described on the page as the following…
“[…] creating a diverse workforce by recruiting as fairly and as widely as possible
“shaping inclusive and welcoming places to work, by educating and inspiring people to take more personal responsibility for fostering and promoting diversity and inclusion
“Reflecting greater diversity within games at every level from game design and development through to marketing and community engagement.
Microsoft’s director of global diversity and inclusion, Roland White, mentioned in the page that “diversity” and “inclusion” are an imperative part of both Microsoft and the Xbox division, saying…
“We continue to strive for increased representation across all identities of diversity, because quite simply, this will lead to better games, better experiences and a better community of players. Diversity and inclusion are imperative at Microsoft and within the Xbox organisation because we believe that when everyone plays, we all win.”
Let’s not beat around the bush. “Diversity” and “inclusion” is a dog-whistle for Lefties that means anti-white, anti-heterosexual, and anti-Christian.
You see it in every single property that they manage to infiltrate. We saw Gears of War – under Facebook’s Women In Gaming initiative, which has the exact same goals as UKIE – replace the straight white male lead with a female POC who may or may not be retconned into being gay.
We’ve seen Halo being used for IdPol propaganda and anyone who didn’t adopt it being censored and banned.
Xbox executives even came out and said they don’t support free speech on their platform, a core principal of the country’s foundation from which the brand originated.
The controversial statements even managed to catch the attention of Geeks + Gamers.
But it doesn’t stop there.
Dr Jo Twist, the chief executive of UKIE, made it known that this isn’t an optional endeavor, classifying it as a “necessity”…
“Diversity isn’t a nicety; it’s a necessity if the industry is going to grow, thrive and truly reflect the tens of millions of people that play games every day in this country. A diverse industry that draws on myriad cultures, lifestyles and experiences will lead to more creative and inclusive games that capture the imagination of players and drive our sector forward.”
This doesn’t bode well for Halo: Infinite at all, and any other first-party exclusive coming out of the house of Xbox.
I don’t know which first-party platform holder is worse between Microsoft and Sony. One is systematically eroding away the quality of all its first-party titles by making everything “diverse” and “inclusive” while the other is systematically forcing Japanese developers to censor fan-service.
It’s an awful time to be a gamer that’s for sure.
