There is a sentiment that is often pondered as to why a company like CD Red Project would bother pandering to the establishment and the Game Journo Pros over say the majority of humanity who are their paying customers. The company constantly promises to be “really inclusive“, changing features of Cyberpunk 2077 at the behest of ResetEra, apologizing to SJWs for a joke, or firing someone for using a hashtag. Naturally, there is the pragmatic issue that these individuals — as they do in academia, Hollywood, and where ever they set up shop — will systematically harass and attempt to drive you from the industry. Even if you are successful in preventing this, as many are, you live a life of perpetual stress. After all, only in the movies does the crime syndicate find it more advantageous to just kill you.
When the issue is raised to the general public you will be met with solidarity in spirit, but not so much in action. After all, cancel culture is wrong and if you act as they do then you are no better than they are. Or so the centrists and moderates of the world will decry as individuals watch their livelihood evaporate.
When you have an organized syndicate of individuals that would plague and attempt to sabotage even your production it is easier to just give them what they want than to fight back.
Then, of course, there are economic benefits that come with your compliance. Such as the unveiled Cyberpunk 2077 Nvidia graphics card and the now Xbox One X Cyberpunk 2077 bundle. Both will generate potential millions of dollars in revenue for CD Project Red, even though the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox and controller look like literal garbage.

You can demand they don’t cater to these people, you can boycott their products and that is a good way to fight back. After all, major deals are not going to be afforded to the likes of Capcom for their servitude to the agenda. Yet so long as Game Journo Pros can leverage the carrot and the stick they will always be the more attractive side. Especially when your company invests millions into a project and needs it to succeed, else the company could end up in dire straights.
Until there is a sizable backlash to their servitude there will be no reason for them not to just give in. Thankfully efforts are not in vain as moderates claim. It may take years, but repeated under performances, repeated flops will eventually have a company reconsider how they develop video games. It took only three to cause Ubisoft to reorganize their company and development. It is rumored that Watchdogs Legions is permanently on hiatus as well with the political nature being the obvious motivation for the company to not release it.
Then the money managers understand Get Woke Go Broke, that’s when things change.
