Dune’s Promotional Image Reveals Timothée Chalamet As Paul Atreides

It looks like the first image for Denis Villeneuve’s forthcoming 2020 Dune film has surfaced, showing off Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides. Based on Frank Herbert’s Dune novel — published back in 1965 — this new movie is said to be a reboot of the film adaptation released in 1984.

Whether or not you are a fan of Villeneuve — whose work spans from Blade Runner 2049 (2017), Arrival (2016), Sicario (2015), and Enemy (2013) — the French Canadian film director will bring Herbert’s 20th-century sci-fi idea into the 21st century with the following cast:

  • Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides
  • Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica
  • Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides
  • Zendaya as Chani
  • Javier Bardem as Stilgar
  • Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck
  • Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho
  • Charlotte Rampling as Gaius Helen Mohiam
  • Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen
  • Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban Harkonnen

And if you have no idea who Chalamet is, he’s the one that was cast as Elio Perlman in the gay/bisexual film Call Me by Your Name. With that said, you can see Chalamet as Atreides right here, as the character stands on his home planet of Caladan, pondering over his uncertain future while ships arrive to bring his family to Arrakis:

Thanks to website screenrant.com and vanityfair.com, the first official image — as seen above — as well as the official logo — which stands as the header image — are now out in the open for public viewing.

The latter website makes mention of offering more information on Villeneuve’s upcoming film, but we only have the above images and recent rumors to go by as of now.

Speaking of rumors, we’ll find out soon via Vanity Fair if the stories are true on how woke the new film is and if it’s full of shameless propaganda.

In the meantime, Villeneuve’s forthcoming take on Dune is set to hit the silver screen sometime this year.
