Rumor Watch: Disney Was Completely Unaware a Female-Centric Show was In Development

Last week came the disastrous tease of a new female-centric Star Wars show from the creative mind behind such hits as Russian Dolls and Weinstein’s casting couch. When the news broke it took everyone by surprise, including the two Bobs at Disney who were were reported to be furious with LucasFilm over the announcement. Leaving most unsure what fate would befall the “in development” show.

For the time being, it would seem Disney’s plan to deal with the female-centric PR nightmare is to bury it in a flurry of news. Before letting the show fade into the memory hole. After all the internet has a short attention span and will be quick to latch onto the next huge story, as covered by Clownfish TV. Such as are orcs a racist caricature of blacks.

Yes, that’s real. The woke Twitter brigades first thoughts when seeing black people are they are moronic, violent savages. Therefore orcs must be a racist depiction of them by everyone who isn’t left-leaning. Never forget they are typically guilty of what they accuse you of.

In-between the unnamed shows announcement and subsequent Monday news barrage Midnight’s Edge were able to reach out to their sources and garner some interesting insights into what is transpiring over at the House of Mouse. As they have attested this information cannot be independently verified, so take it with a grain of salt.

According to their sources, as Disney’s workforce continues to work from home at various degrees of intensity it is rather difficult for them to sync their schedules to have video conference calls. Leaving the majority of interoffice activities to be handled through email, direct message, and private message boards. All of which were in complete confusion when the announcement broke. With everyone asking each other if they even knew the show was in development.

Previously it was known Disney had no idea the project was in development, that much was expected over the reaction. It was a surprise to everyone when it came out even Lucas Film had no idea this project was in development.

Not even the film production unit — who is responsible for the creation of all show pitches, developing the storyboards, concept art, drafts, and design ideas for characters and locations — when they were asked if they had any idea the show was being developed their response was reportedly a resounding “no”.

Leaving the assumption that Kathleen Kennedy and Leslye Headland for the past few months have developed this project in complete secret. Only to then attempt to utilize social pressure from the Twitter mobs and entertainment media complex to force Disney into producing yet another activist show on their dime and at the expense of their already collapsed reputation.

Their core problem is Disney wants absolutely nothing to do with Headland. She is without question a legal and PR nightmare for the company. Even if Weinstein is acquitted of the charges, as noted by Variety, but never being an absolute abhorrent scumbag, she will still be a liability for her connections to him.

Connections that equates to a year in his employ, followed with him rumored to have personally financed her career. Disney’s concern is such loyalty will likely come with a future #MeToo accusation against Headland. With Weinstein’s appeal moving forward more will certainly appear to accuse him of abusing his position of power to garner sexual favors. With Headland being the one to have arranged and helped cover up the entire affair, or so Disney fears.

For the time being the rest of Disney’s staff have been ordered to cease discussion of the topic until the heads of the company can determine what to do about the situation. Ironically for the company, it will likely be the Fandom Menace through leaks and news coverage who will keep alive attention for the very show the company now wants to be forgotten.
