Nightdive Studios and 3D Realms are working on a remake of SiN following the re-release of SiN: Gold back during the middle of March.
The announcement about the remake of SiN was made by the vice president of 3D Realms, Frederik Schreiber back on March 22nd, 2020, so no it’s not an April Fool’s joke. The announcement was posted up on Schreiber’s official Twitter account.

According to Schreiber, the news was actually revealed days earlier by the CEO of Nightdive Studios, Stephen Kick. This was likely in reference to the Twitch livestream that took place on March 20th in place of what they had planned to announce during GDC this year, which had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus.

Some people might be excited about this news – a remake of a hidden gem from the 1990s. However, I’m not.
We’ve already seen what happened with Ion Fury, where 3D Realms and Voidpoint capitulated to the crazies from ResetEra.
There are Centrists™ who insist that Ion Fury wasn’t censored, but the “Fagbag” comment was censored and they gave $10,000 to an LGBTQIA+ organization, something normal gamers did not want their money going toward.
Given that today’s industry is governed by the worst perpetrators of degeneracy and censorship apologism, I can already imagine what will happen when they announce the SiN remake and the main villain, Sinclair, gets a boob reduction and ends up being censored and a bunch of Centrists™ will use the ridiculous excuse that they’re just making it more “realistic”, just like what they did with Final Fantasy VII Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake, where only the sexy chicks got the “realism” makeover, but all the over-the-top ridiculousness such as Barret’s gatling gun and the Tyrant’s man-sized flamethrower were all fine.
Apparently realism in today’s gaming industry only needs to apply to female sex appeal.
Screw the Centrists™, screw the SJWs, screw the developers who kowtow to them and screw the censorship apologists.
