Anno: Mutationem Video Entices Gamers With Cyberpunk Cities, Hot Girls, And Awesome Combat

Beijing-based ThinkingStars Technology is still working on their cyberpunk action game, Anno: Mutationem. The game has sort of gone dark since 2019, but a YouTuber recently compiled together some of the promotional footage of the game to remind gamers about the visually stunning hack-and-slash action title due out for PC, PS4, and mobile devices.

YouTuber Rob Cram compiled some of the gameplay footage and developmental clips together to create a a four and a half minute collage for Anno: Mutationem.

You can check out the video below.

Gameplay is a mixed bag of point-and-click exploration through 3D environments, along with action-oriented side-scrolling platforming and hack-and-slash gameplay. It makes use of the Unity 3D game engine and some of the CriWare tech in order to mix and match hand-animated pixels with 3D rendered environments.

It’s like a NieR: Automata version of Dex.

Also, given that the developers aren’t from San Francisco, Portland, or Seattle, they made sure that the main heroine looks hot and you even get to change her outfit as she attempts to gather intel from within a club by dressing slutty.

Awesome.

Another big plus is that the game is themed around a lot of SCP fiction. Some of the abilities you’ll be able to utilize and enemies you’ll face off against are inspired by the SCP community… before it got pozzed.

The cityscape reminds me a lot of Ghost In The Shell.

The Neo-Tokyo look really resonates strongly in Anno: Mutationem, and there’s a strong mixture of high-class high-tech districts and the scum-ridden, trashy areas of the city as well.

Unlike Cyberpunk 2077, Anno: Mutationem isn’t filled to the brim with degenerates and illegal immigrants.

Despite what Liberals say, the cyberpunk genre is not all about hideous illegals and junky alleyways that look like they come from Detroit, Michigan or St. Louis, Missouri.

There’s a lot of promise in Anno: Mutationem and hopefully it launches right proper without being butchered by Sony’s censorship policies.

You can follow the development of the game by visiting the official ThinkingStars page on Weibo.
