Star Wars: Squadrons Will Bring Diversity And Space Battles To PC And Home Consoles This October

None of the following information should come in as a surprise. Given that Star Wars: Squadrons is a product of Electronic Arts and Motive Studios, it would only make sense that more diversity would be front and center in the newly announced game’s reveal trailer. With that said, Star Wars: Squadrons is set to release for PC and home consoles on October 2nd, 2020.

The past rumors about this game are correct. Star Wars: Squadrons will launch with a single-player campaign and a multiplayer mode — where five people compete against five other players in air and space battles. The game is all about piloting crafts such as X-Wings, A-Wings, Y-Wings, TIE Fighters, TIE Bombers, and other iconic Star Wars ships.

Confirming the two-day-old rumors to be true is the following description from the game’s official reveal trailer:

“Buckle up, take full control of starfighters such as the X-wing and TIE fighter, and feel the adrenaline of strategic first-person 5v5 multiplayer dogfights alongside your squadron.

In a fateful campaign set near the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War, learn what it means to be a pilot in a thrilling STAR WARS™ single-player story. The New Republic fights for freedom. The Empire demands order. We need you to join the galaxy’s finest. STAR WARS™: Squadrons is available October 2, 2020 on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, Origin PC, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Virtual Reality (VR) on PlayStation 4 and PC with cross-play support.”

Nevertheless, it wouldn’t be a current year product without showing a diverse cast of characters to score social justice points, as seen in the following trailer:

It’s worth noting that sometimes EA and its subsidiaries like to put “Windows 10” as the required OS, but contrary to that, Apex Legends (which on launch day showed that players needed Windows 10 to run the game) supported other OS types.
