After launching for PC back in 2018 and for the Nintendo Switch this past winter, Ultimate Games’ Demolish & Build has made its way to the Xbox One as a digital download from Microsoft’s online marketplace.
The game is currently available for $19.99 over on the Microsoft Store, and the game is rated ‘E’ for Everyone, so it should be safe to play for the whole family. Given that Ultimate Games isn’t fond of adding degeneracy to their family titles, opposite of some other studios, you shouldn’t have to worry about the game promoting harmful ideas or fringe sexual fetishes to your children, which has become a common occurrence in a lot of other recent titles.
The single-player game focuses on four different locations you’ll travel to, each with their own set of objectives as you carry out the namesake of the title in various sandlots. You’ll need to demolish old structures using construction vehicles, and build brand new structures using a smorgasbord of tools at your disposal.
Since the destruction is entirely physics-based, it means you have a number of ways to complete your tasks, such as using demolitions to bring down old buildings, or tractors to push dilapidated junk out of the way, or tearing down old debris using a trusty sledgehammer.
From there you’ll need to use your vehicles and tools to clean up the surrounding area, take the debris out of the lot, and then start working on repairs using power-saws, wielding tools, and more.
After that you’ll need to gather your supplies using transport equipment, and then use your cranes and rigs to build all new structures, ranging from houses and commercial properties, to storage facilities and highrises.
Noble Muffins’ realistic construction/deconstruction simulator may be a little rough around the edges, but I have to say that the concept is pretty cool and the execution isn’t half bad, based on the screenshots and trailers.
The physics are a little stilted, and the graphics obviously aren’t AAA quality, but the game looks like it could be some decent, wholesome fun for a father and son to spend the afternoon playing.
You can pick up a digital copy of the game right now or check it out on PC or Nintendo Switch.
