Dynamite Entertainment crowdfunded a cover for Vengeance of Vampirella featuring Cecil Jones’ artwork from his #ComicsGate-backed project Cash Grab, only to later turn around and throw fans and Ceil under the bus by kowtowing to the mentally ill freaks that propagate social media.
It started with “Cecil’s Big Cover”, a crowdfunding campaign over on IndieGoGo that still has 27 days left on the clock as of the writing of this article. It was an overwhelming success from the get-go, featuring the sloppy, unorthodox super hero, Cecil, from Cash Grab, lodged between the bosoms of the very buxom Vampirella and Red Sonja for the Vengeance of Vampirella comic book.
The cover is completely tongue-in-cheek, which you can check out below.

You can easily see just how delectably juicy the boobs are on their super heroines, replete with curvaceous backsides and fair skin.
It’s the kind of combination that makes for mouthwatering appeal, and it’s also the kind of cheesecake completely absent from any of the content published by the bigger outfits, such as Marvel or DC.
The alternative cover for Vengeance of Vampirella featuring Cecil was funded in just under an hour, but it also caught the attention of Social Justice Warriors, who then proceeded to make it their duty to try to deplatform Dynamite Comics and attack them like they usually do.
On July 19th, 2020, Dynamite Entertainment’s CEO, Nick Barrucci, made a public statement on Twitter in response, stating that they would not be moving forward with the comic book cover.
“In speaking with Cecil, neither one of us realized the cover would be so polarizing. We discussed and are not moving forward with the cover or the campaign.” – Nick Barrucci, CEO & Publisher of Dynamite

This response was met with the typical groans and moans from normal, sane people, and a lot of cheers and applause from the people who never had any intentions of buying a Vampirella comic book to begin with, much less an alternate cover featuring Cecil.
The usual suspects from Polygon, Funimation, and CBR were quick to applaud Dynamite’s decision, while also making it known that they still aren’t going to support their projects or products.
Cool but you should a.) never ever ever work with anyone from CG again and b.) internally investigate WHY you allowed this to happen

I mean did they think no one had noticed what comic company makes “collectible coins” in EXACTLY the same fashion, same packaging, with the same cut and pasted description as EVS’s Cyberfrog coin campaign? pic.twitter.com/bdZpg1GEJQ

So when does your ongoing business relationship with EVS, the ringleader of comicsgate, get the boot? Or are you still pretending everyone isn’t aware who Ethan’s “printer down the road” is? https://t.co/DrsfB2a3IX

Or that Nick “I pay EVS superchat on his CG stream” Barucci is totally unaware of EVS’ (& Cecil’s) affiliation or who/what they are.
The mask is off all way now, Nick. You traded loyalty of customers and pros for hate group money.
A lame ass apology doesn’t CTRL-ALT-DELETE that

People who had actually invested a lot of time, energy, and money into Dynamite’s crowdfunding campaigns to help keep sexy alive were thoroughly disappointed in the company caving to the hate mob.
Youtubers like Midnight’s Edge hosted a livestream so real comic book fans could vent about Dynamite giving leeway to the Intersectional Inquisition.
Others like Ethan Van Sciver and Jon Malin also used a livestream as an outlet to get fan feedback and also criticize Dynamite for using the #ComicsGate crowd to help get projects off the ground and feign allegiance in order to raise the stock of their profile.
And now Dynamite has turned their backs on the true fans, and they didn’t even gain any sympathy or acceptance from the people who demanded they cancel the Cecil cover.
At this point you can’t trust any of the market-saturated corporations. They’re too fickle and thin-hearted; they don’t have the resolve or the intestinal fortitude to stand up against the toxic and debilitating aura of the Social Justice Mutants.
Basically, Cecil got screwed, #ComicsGate got screwed, and most importantly… fans got screwed.
