Movie Games Lunarium, Movie Games S.A., and PlayWay officially announced the release date for the sequel to the 2018 sexual horror game, Lust For Darkness. The upcoming first-person thriller, Lust From Beyond, is set to arrive first on PC starting September 24th as a completely uncensored and adult-oriented experience.
There’s currently a free prologue available to play through over on the Steam store page, giving you a small taste of what to expect from the full release.
The trailer is definitely quite provocative, but don’t expect any of that content to make its way into the console release since the home consoles don’t allow for Adult’s Only games to be sold digitally, and retailers don’t care Adult’s Only titles, so if it does appear on the consoles it will be duly censored.
The full game will feature the same kind of creepy mixture of exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat from the first title, seamlessly blending genres together to give gamers a very unique mixture of different gameplay elements all wrapped into one. The name reminds me a lot of Stuart Gordon’s From Beyond, which was another Lovecraftian inspired horror flick that perfectly captured the danger, the perversion, and the absolute horror of beings from another dimension.
The first game wasn’t groundbreaking by any measure, but it did manage to capture the allure and sexual-horror of the Lovecraftian mythos.
The focus on Lust From Beyond focuses on a cult that attempts to use sexual energy to attract the Old Ones from the outer dimensions. In the original game it followed a husband trying to track his wife down to a mansion inhabited by the Cult of Ecstasy. Ventures not only through the mansion but also beyond, into the tormentous land of Lusst’ghaa, where unspeakable horrors provide a new kind of sexual experience.
I’m not sure what happens in the sequel after the cliffhanger from the first game, but we’ll certainly find out when Lust From Beyond arrives on the Steam store starting September 24th.
