Runescape Censors “Hateful Words” In Chat Regardless Of Profanity Filter Settings

Jagex is falling further down the hole of being anti-gamer and anti-freedom of speech. This time they’ve updated Runescape with a hard-filter for chat that censors words and phrases regardless of your profanity filter settings.

The news was posted over on the official Runescape website on July 2nd, 2020, where they explained…

“We have now added additional hard-filtering for a number of hateful words and phrases to our chat filter. When these words are used, they will be censored regardless of your profanity filter setting – they have no place in Gielinor under any circumstances.”

I imagine Centrists™ and Communists will praise Jagex for impeding on the rights of gamers, so much so that even the language that you’re okay with is now being infringed upon.

This also doesn’t say anything about other languages where certain phrases or words that are considered profane in some regions are considered normal in others.

But you can’t expect cultural imperialists to understand nuance or have empathy for different cultures.

Jagex, however, went on to reiterate their support for Black Lives Matter, and the money they donated to the organizations that are currently funding and enabling riots, violence, vandalism, murder, and domestic terrorism across the United States of America. This act of treason netted Jagex a healthy spot on the Traitors of America master list.

In any case, Jagex decided to usurp any kind of freedom of choice players might have with their chat filtering options by hard-filtering words and phrases, writing…

“In February 2011 we introduced the option to turn off the chat filter that had been in place for around a decade. We did this because, as an automated filter, some players felt it got in the way of regular conversation. We had hoped this choice would give players the opportunity to more freely express themselves, but sadly inappropriate, offensive language and behaviour, despite being against the rules, has remained.

“So to start with, we’re going to be hard-filtering a number of hateful words and phrases. This means that some words will be censored regardless of whether the profanity filter is toggled off. The banned words and phrases have no place within Gielinor, and there is not a time or a place when they would need to be said.

“We know the filter isn’t perfect, and we know it won’t solve toxicity within our community, but it’s a good place to start. We will be monitoring your reports and feedback, and will share more about further action we plan to take in the future.”

As this juncture, censorship is too widespread to stop.

Cultural Marxists now control all major forms of media and entertainment, and the censorship will continue to spread far and wide. There is no end in sight.

Freedom is now on the fringes, and it’s just a matter of time before every game you love and enjoy will be brandished under the yoke of the Communist agenda.

You lost.
