Way back on July 15th, 2019, we reported on a rumor that suggested Sperasoft — a studio that worked on Mass Effect: Andromeda’s animations — would help 343 Industries on Halo: Infinite. Back then, we raised concern that something uncanny might pop up regarding the characters’ faces, and it looks like Denis Larkin, Chief Commercial Officer at Sperasoft, has proven our past reporting correct.
The rumor in question was published by website gamingbolt.com, which touched on Sperasoft aiding 343 Industries with Halo: Infinite’s animations. However, the bulk of animations was reported to be under the former in-house team. In other words, Sperasoft is pretty much doing assistant work on the next installment.
With that said, we could only fathom the following outcome a year ago:
“Microsoft and 343 are planning on making the forthcoming title in the Halo franchise something to remember… except the animations might be a thing burned into the minds of fans for all the wrong reasons.”
And Craig and Mexican Joel Miller proved us right when July 23rd, 2020, rolled around — a day that marked the due date of the Xbox Games Showcase digital event.
Fast forward a month later, and on August 5th, 2020, Larkin now has a public letter up announcing that Sperasoft is assisting 343 Industries on Halo: Infinite’s development.
Thanks to website sirusgaming.com, we learn that Sperasoft will be supporting 343 Industries with the next-gen game’s content across multiple development mandates, components, and experiences. Here’s the official press release that Larkin released courtesy of said outlet:
“It’s an honor to contribute to the most famous FPS series in the world and to support the next generation of the Halo franchise. Our development teams are thrilled with our 343 Industries collaboration on the anticipated upcoming release: Halo Infinite.”
Anyway, Halo: Infinite is set to launch sometime in Q4 2020 for PC via the Windows Store, Xbox One, and the next-gen Xbox. In the meantime, you can check out Sperasoft’s work as seen in the 2017 game Mass Effect: Andromeda right here:
