Serious Sam 4 is Devolver Digital and Croteam’s latest work. However, the forthcoming first-person shooter will no longer release this year in August for PC via Steam and Stadia, but on September 24th, 2020.
The news of the delay comes right after the controversy over Serious Sam 4 featuring a censored Harpy, where devs of Croteam came forth to say that better places to view “gazoongas” exist. Although the Harpies will reportedly keep their jungle coconuts out at launch, folks won’t be seeing them until the end of the third quarter.
The announcement of the delay came in the form of a recent trailer showing off the Headless Kamikaze running through August and then exploding on the new due date to let gamers and fans alike know when Sam will get “serious.”
You can check out the new delay video announcement right here:
“It’s been a wild ride for us, and it’s about to be even wilder when Serious Sam 4 obliterates normality this August, and by August we actually mean September 24, 2020.”
No word has surfaced as to what the devs are working on as of this moment that warrants a delay besides the game graphically looking like it would come out sometime in 2013. However, I’m sure word on gameplay and technical updates will bubble up as we close in on the game’s September due date.
Anyway, the game itself sees Sam continuing the fight against Mental’s minions once again. This means the Headless Kamikaze, Beheaded Rocketeer, Kleer, Scrapjack, Scythian Witch-Harpy, Werebull, and Khnum are back along with new enemies and towering monsters like the Processed, Belcher, Zealot, and more.
Lastly, Serious Sam 4 will release late next month on September 24th for PC via Steam and Stadia. More info on this title can be found by paying croteam.com or the game’s official Steam page a visit.
