The developers behind Yakuza 6: The Song of Life announced that the Western release of the game for the PlayStation 4 has been delayed from its March 20th, 2018 date and has been pushed back by a month to April 17th, 2018. To help compensate for the delay, the developers will be releasing a demo for Yakuza 6 on the PlayStation Store starting February 27th later this month.
The news comes courtesy of a post from the official Yakuza Twitter account, which made the announcement with an image attached to the tweet, which you can read below.

If you can’t read the message because you don’t have a Twitter account or it isn’t display properly because your computer moonlights as a self-regulating radiologist to keep cancer like Twitter out of its system, the full note can be read below…
“Yakuza 6: The Song of Life’s release is being moved back a month to April 17. This was a tough business decision we didn’t make lightly. But – with bad news, we also have some good – this gives us more time to line things up for launch, and on February 27, the demo for Yakuza 6 will be available and will allow players to bring their save into the game on release. This will be the first time everyone will have a chance to play the game (a moment we have long been anticipating!) and we can’t wait to hear what you think about it. We have many new plans to reveal over the coming weeks to give you all more insight into the series, so stay tuned!”
The ability to play through the demo and save your progress to carry it over into the full game is definitely something a lot of fans might appreciate.
What’s more is that Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will arrive in the West for the PlayStation 4 completely uncensored.
The localizers revealed in a livestream that they were pelted by hardcore fans with questions about the game being censored, and they affirmed that they did not cut the mini-games out of Yakuza 6, nor did they attempt to censor it from top to bottom to fit the sensibilities of people who spend more of their waking life trying to get a bunch of hearts and likes on Twitter because no one in their real life will ever shower them with that much affection.
You can now look for Yakuza 6: The Song of Life to launch exclusively on the PlayStation 4 in the Americas and Europe starting April 17th.
