Microids and Eden Games’ Gear.Club Unlimited originally made its way onto the Nintendo Switch last year in the middle of November. The game wasn’t a groundbreaking foray into the arcade racing genre, but it did offer Switch owners a racing game that wasn’t kart-racing or based around power-ups. It was basically their own little Need For Speed.
The first Gear.Club Unlimited received middling review scores both from game reviewers and actual gamers. Eden Games, however, is taking that feedback to heart and improving on what was originally introduced in the first game with the upcoming release of Gear.Club Unlimited 2.
The second game is due for release at the end of the year starting December 4th, nearly two months from now.
Gear.Club Unlimited 2 will feature a total of 250 different races that stretches more than 3,000 kilometers of race track. There are also multiple biomes to race through, including mountainsides, open-plains, city streets, and expansive valleys. You can get an idea of what the game will look like graphically and how the cars will handle with the trailer below.
The races will span championships, missions, and special challenges. You’ll have a decent selection of 51 different vehicles to choose from, each of which can be modified, upgraded, and customized in the garage workshop. This also includes modifying the bumpers, hood, side-skirts, spoilers, tires, and liveries for the cars.

The game definitely shows promise, and the original Gear.Club Unlimited had a spark of personality as a general racing game for the Switch. With a bit more polish and ingenuity tossed into the racing mechanics and customization, along with a healthy variety of challenging and fun tracks, I could easily see Gear.Club Unlimited 2 attracting some gamers looking for a decent arcade racing sim on the Switch.
You can look for the game to launch on December 4th for Nintendo’s little console that could.
