LifeSiteNews Petitions Marvel To Avoid LGBTQ Agenda For Upcoming Movie The Eternals

Marvel Film Studios head honcho Kevin Feige had confirmed back in June of 2018 that during the next phase of content, Marvel would be introducing more LGBTQIA super heroes.

Marvel decided to continue to pursue this line of thought when chief of production, Victoria Alonso, told Variety on March 7th, 2019 that they are pursuing diversity for the upcoming movie projectThe Eternals, saying…

“I’m so passionate about this I’ve got to tell you. Our entire success is based on people that are incredibly different. Why wouldn’t we? Why would we only want to be recognized by only one type of person? Our audience is global, is diverse, is inclusive. If we don’t do it that way for them, we will fail. If we don’t put pedal to the metal on the diversity and the inclusivity, we will not have continued success. Our determination is to have that for all of the people out there watching our movies.”

This was in response to the blue checkmarks and small but loud minority of Twitter users constantly demanding that Marvel kowtow to their whims.

Well, Conservative website Lifesitenews decided to bite back with a petition.

Over on LifePetitions.com there’s a petition that was started back on March 14th, 2019 gathering signatures that is aimed at telling Marvel that children aren’t ready for LGBT super heroes.

The petition explains…

“Children and teens, and especially their parents, don’t go to superhero movies to be indoctrinated with LGBT propaganda.

“They go to superhero movies to enter into a fantasy-world where superpowers help save the world, IRRESPECTIVE of sex.

“It would seem that, while children, adolescents and their parents visit this type of fantasy-world occasionally, Marvel Studios may actually live in one on a permanent basis.”

Now to be fair, super heroes across the LGBTQIA spectrum have been a part of the Marvel universe for some time, with characters like American Chavez and Iceman being made front and center to promote the SJW agenda… although both comic books ended up on the Get Woke; Go Broke Master List. However, Marvel has readily refrained from introducing those characters into prominent roles within the live-action movies.

LifeSiteNews wants to keep it that way.

It’s not just because they don’t want LGBTQIA characters on-screen, it’s because they fear that Marvel will irresponsibly depict the character(s) without giving kids and teens the heads-up about the facts regarding homosexuality.

The petition states…

“[…] as compared to the general population, the U.S. Institute for Medicine reviewed research confirming greater occurrence of health problems in the LGBT population, especially HIV/AIDS (among men), mental health, substance use and abuse (alcohol, tobacco, drugs), obesity and breast cancer (among lesbians and bisexual women), and other concerns.

“And, according to the CDC, 1 in 6 men who have sex with men will contract HIV in their lifetime, which, of course, is a dire diagnosis and a grave physical and mental health problem.”

The numbers are not incorrect.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report from September 26th, 2018, they did report that in a 2016 study gay and bisexual men did account for 67% of all individuals diagnosed with HIV, and 82% of all males diagnosed who were aged 13 or older. Those numbers dropped by a single percentile in a 2017 study to 66%, according to the most recent report from the CDC that was published on January 29th, 2019.

The stats about the abuse within the LGBTQ community are not incorrect, either. According to the NCADV organization, 43.8% of lesbian women and 61.1% of bisexual women have experience rape, physical violence, and or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime. The numbers are not insignificant for gay men, either.

As noted by LifeSiteNews, they feel that this is highly unethical from Marvel to promote a lifestyle without diving into the inherent risks, writing…

“Knowing these things, it is extremely unethical and morally wrong that the producers at Marvel Studios should want to promote this lifestyle as ‘super’ in movies seen by many children and teens.”

The petition and LifeSiteNews in general received significant push back from those who discovered the petition.

On the article reporting on the petition, the comment section is filled with those from the LGBTQIA community and their Centrists™ allies incensed at the idea that LifeSiteNews would start a petition to stop Marvel from including an LGBQTIA character in the movie The Eternals.

The comment section on the article is a serious battle ground, with lots of heavy moderation in play. The article also bled out onto social media like an open wound from a diver in shark infested waters.

You can imagine what the responses were like from the Left-leaning Twitter metaverse.

If you do that, Disney Classics are sexual. How To Train Your Dragon is sexual. That scene wjere meet Hawkeye’s wife? Sexual. Another thing, you don’t even know the content of the film. For all we know, it’s perfectly wholesome Disney-Channel-Grade fluff and handholds.

Oh god seriously people? So you can have “sexualize” characters in the film and that’s ok for children but day ones gay and you think these children are going to join #isis. Petition demands Marvel Studios scrap ‘gay’ superhero | News | LifeSite https://t.co/V3APDX9asD

And here is a major reason why there are higher levels of mental health issues in the LGBTQ community.
Oh, and killing and violence are fine, but not being gay. https://t.co/uodIzS9qEX

People really are so pressed about the idea of a gay superhero out of fear their children will become gay, what harm is there in having a superhero for gay people to look up to? A person’s sexuality isn’t their number one defining trait smh https://t.co/uOSP55E4JN

As of the writing of this article they’ve managed to secure 9,454 signatures. They’re likely aiming to ramp up the signatures by spreading the word outside of their own community.

A previous petition from Christians actually managed to rack up 200,000 signatures after being featured on Fox News, which led to a comic book called Second Coming to get cancelled by DC Comics.

One would have to wonder if the petition from LifeSiteNews managed to reach a similar amount of people would there be some kind of abeyance from Marvel regarding the employ of an openly gay lead in Eternals? Or would they ignore a sizable portion of the audience to keep pushing the LGBTQ agenda in the entertainment industry?

Many suspect that Marvel may hit an impasse when it comes to getting the movie into China’s mainland theaters, given that China is highly averse to LGBTQ propaganda, as distribution of such material is oftentimes considered illegal. But would Marvel forego one of its biggest markets just to push the LGBTQ agenda?
