Mortal Kombat 11 Trailer Teases Classic Kitana But She’s Not Looking Too Sexy At All

At this point the most important news about Mortal Kombat 11 is whether or not the game will feature a super-sexy woman in it at some point. Right now, the answer is looking like a big, fat, emphatic “No!”. There are no sexy women in the game, it’s just all a bunch of butch chicks decked out in desert garb and mech armor and Soviet workout gear, but none of their boobs are hanging out of their tops, and none of their butts are wobbling out of their skirts. There are no micro-bikini armor variants and no cheek-hugging thongs whatsoever. 25 years of fan-service straight down the drain. It’s a freaking travesty! Sadly, said travesty has carried over into Kitana’s design in Mortal Kombat 11.

Back in Mortal Kombat X we saw that Kitana was more conservatively covered up compared to her appearance in Mortal Kombat 9; but to be fair she was more scantily clad in Mortal Kombat X than she was in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. This time around, however, she seems to be even more covered up than before. She’s wearing a bodysuit with a cleavage cutout, sporting much smaller boobs, and what appears to be… pants?!?!

Check out the teaser video below from YouTuber Izuniy to get a glimpse of her classic outfit, which is actually not her classic outfit from the earlier Mortal Kombat games.

As you can see, at the 14 second mark we get a glimpse at classic Kitana before she turned into a revenant in Mortal Kombat X.

But what’s interesting is that her default human outfit in Mortal Kombat 11 is nothing like her default human outfit in Mortal Kombat X. You can see the comparison between the two below.

As you can see, they’ve covered her up quite a bit, with the only exposed parts in the upper torso area being the heart-shaped cutout around her rather minuscule and unimpressive cleavage.

We can see that her midriff has been completely covered up, her breasts have been duly shrunk, and the exposure of her lilac crest leading down to the greater femur muscle through the pelvic region is no more. Meaning that there’s ZERO exposure of the pelvic region whatsoever.

This is a travesty.

Now again, this is just a tease of her human classic outfit, even though this is not actually her real classic outfit at all. Her traditional classic outfit was featured in Mortal Kombat XL, and was a throwback to her gear from Mortal Kombat 2 where she debuted.

Mortal Kombat XL - Kitana Klassic

So we can see that NetherRealm is weasling around adding classic costumes for certain characters, while keeping the outfits the same for others, such as Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Kano. Even if Kitana’s outfit was supposed to be a throwback to her Mortal Kombat 3 gear (which was a lot more risque than her Mortal Kombat 2 outfit) it’s still  laced in a lot of coverage compared to what it was in the third game.

Worse yet is that the revenant outfit that Kitana sported in Mortal Kombat X is no more. They completely covered her up in Mortal Kombat 11‘s rendition of the revenant gear. So far we haven’t seen any custom gear variations for Kitana, but as you can see in the comparison below,  her default for the revenant garb sees her with so much more clothing piled on since the last outing. Its like the developers are purposefully trying to keep people from leering at her!

Mortal Kombat 11 vs X - Kitana Revenant

So on the left we have Kitana’s Mortal Kombat X revenant outfit, and on the right we have Kitana’s Mortal Kombat 11 revenant outfit.

Noticed anything?

As you can see, she’s undead in both, but in the upcoming game she’s armored up practically from head to toe with the exception of the the cleavage cutout, and bare collarbone above the sternum. Let’s get one thing straight: there’s nothing sexy about zombie collarbones!

To be fair, her revenant costume in Mortal Kombat 11 offers more exposure than her default skin for her normal human form, but it’s still very conservative compared to Mortal Kombat X, which at least attempted to maintain her sex appeal both in her human and revenant form.

Also, even though Mortal Kombat X was far less risque than Mortal Kombat 9, they did retain some of the fan-service costumes from the 2011 outing. Yes, you had to go through some hurdles and jump through some hoops to access them, but Kitana’s super sexy outfit that she sported in the MK9 story mode was made available as an unlockable tournament outfit in MKX, as pictured below.

The only saving grace for Kitana in Mortal Kombat 11 might be her third alt, and possibly her gear pieces.

We know that each character gets three defaults at the start and the option to modify them further with unlockable gear pieces, ala Injustice 2. But so far all of the defaults for all of the females have been covered up. Here or there you might get a squint-and-you-missed-it boob window, or a bare bit of thigh, but for the most part it’s just pathetic. Heck, you get more uncovered breasts and thighs from a bucket of KFC than you do in Mortal Kombat 11. The game does nothing to satisfy those thirsty for some big, bouncy, video game boobs.

Given that there’s been a consistent pattern in Mortal Kombat 11 to keep all of the women wrapped up in linen like they just got done cosplaying as ninjas at an Amish talent show, I don’t hold out much hope for Kitana’s third alt, especially if Cassie Cage, Jade, Skarlet, and Jacqui are anything to go by.

The real hypocrisy of it all is that, as some of you may have noticed,  nearly all the men have shirtless or pants-less options to showcase their bulging muscles and well-defined pecs.

Anyway, you can look for Mortal Kombat 11 to launch in all its puritan-approved glory starting April 23rd, 2019 for the Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
