A bunch of Leftists and Centrists™ will immediately offer the rebuttal “Who cares if they race-swapped these characters? Race doesn’t matter”, to which I will ask, if race doesn’t matter then why race-swap the characters to begin with? Cue indefinite silence from the allies of propaganda. Expect that little scenario to play out time and time over again across forums and social media as news spreads that Showtime’s Halo television series has begun ramping up casting for the production on the live-action adaptation of the popularity-waned first-person shooter franchise.
Tor.com is reporting that Captain Jacob Keyes will be played by Black Panther’s Danny Sapani, while his daughter Dr. Miranda Keyes will be played by Home From Home’s Olive Gray.
And yes, they radically changed the story, making Miranda a scientist now instead of a military commander. So not only did they race-swap her but they’re also feeding into the current Progressive Liberal narrative where all female POCs have to be in the STEM field.
This was further confirmed via a tweet from the official Showtime account, which posted up a picture of the main cast members, with Sapani and Gray sitting front and center in the photo.

Thankfully, there are some actual fans pushing back against Showtime’s racist agenda to completely erase the iconic white characters from the Halo universe.
Various users fired back that the Keyes aren’t supposed to be black, and when some of those aforementioned Centrists™ attempted to defend the race-swapping, they were called out on it… thankfully.
Others pointed out some of the more obvious plot holes that are present in the Showtime show before we’ve seen one set photo. As mentioned in the Tor article, one of the new characters in the show is named Makee, an orphaned human raised by the Covenant, the arch nemesis of humans.
The big question becomes: why would the Covenant raise a human if they’re all about eradicating the human race? And more importantly, if they can convert humans, why not just round them all up and put them conversion camps after glassing their planets with plasma?
OAG follower and Halo fan Hunt3r47 posed this question to the Showtime account, but they didn’t receive a reply.

343 Industries head honcho Frank O’Connor was quick to pop into Showtime’s thread to pat the franchise on the back, but thankfully a United States Airforce serviceman was in the thread to check O’Connor about race-swapping two beloved characters from back when Halo used to be considered good.
O’Connor didn’t bother responding, and ducked out of the thread after being put in his place by someone calling out the degenerative nature of race-swapping fan-favorite characters in order to virtue signal to a crowd who will likely never watch the show.
Why blackwash two beloved characters? Is it too much to ask for a adaptation that matches the description of characters in the games with appearances and personalities attached? I’m not watching this show. Something just seems off and I’m tired of being let down by you 343.

It looks like Halo is going to be dead on arrival when it finally does arrive on Showtime. The show is off to a horrible start, with majority of the cast being black-washed, and the core plot sounding like a Syfy Channel reject.
They cast Pablo Schreiber from American Gods to play Master Chief, but so long as he keeps the helmet on he may not be that bad. Most fans are worried that Showtime will turn the Chief into a trans Muslim who is gay. You might be laughing at the concept but Social Justice Terrorists have been advocating for turning Master Chief gay for some time, and in [current year] you can bet your bottom dollar that the conversation came up at least twice during the network meetings.
In any case, this whole thing looks like an abomination in the making, even worse than Netflix’s The Witcher, and that’s already a race-swapped trainwreck.
