It was obvious that Lilith’s Taimanin Asagi series was never going to be allowed on Steam in its complete form. The game was originally banned from Steam back in September, but then in late November the app popped up again on Valve’s storefront, leaving a lot of gamers suspicious and wary of some sort of nefarious plot against Lilith’s artistic vision. Well, they weren’t wrong because Taimanin Asagi 1: Trial on Steam is censored.
The rape-heavy visual novel starring buxom kunoichis is still tagged as Adults Only, but reviews and comments are coming in from those who have played the original and this new Steam release, and so far they’ve noted that the free trial has cut out some of the bloody details that were present in Lilith’s original release.
Over on the Steam forums user Sage explained that in the original version there’s more blood when Oboro gets aced, but here on the Steam version the blood and violence is toned down. Effectively censored.

This was corroborated by some of the reviews on the store page for Taimanin Asagi 1: Trial, which is free-to-download on Steam at the moment.
Rik67 posted a review that outlines what’s missing and what’s changed, writing…
“Ultra short, less than 15 minutes of gameplay.
No adult scenes.
Goriness was censored.“This doesn’t look good for the full games, they even removed the blood that was in the original version. Also this is the shortest prologue ever. It took me about 15 minutes to finish it, but I had to keep the game open in order to write a review, because 15 minutes isn’t enough for Steam.
“Final thoughts?
Pass your way, this game won’t be worth your money.
Or wait for others to buy it, and post pics. If it’s still censored and botched then, we will know.”
That’s actually sound advice.
What we don’t know is if the trial version was censored just to make it onto Steam but the full version might keep all the gore and sex in place. At least we know from the in-game screenshot that Asagi’s camel toe wasn’t altered.
However, the flip side is that if they had to censor the trial version to get it onto Steam then there’s a strong likelihood that they also censored the full version on Steam as well.
Right now we just don’t know until the game launches on Valve’s marketplace.
We also don’t know when or how the full volumes will be made available on Steam, but if the censored trial version – which still got hit with the Adults Only tag even though it doesn’t contain any sex scenes – is anything to go by, it’s not looking good for the full release.
