Reportedly a bunch of games have been blocked in Germany due to the Landesmedienanstalt Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein. This is what’s being stated on the Steam Nukige group page.
Various games have apparently been blocked, including but not limited to the following:
- Aisu Paradise
- Hard Work
- Hikari! Clover Rescue
- Hikari! Love Potion
- House Party
- I Walk Among Zombies Vol. 1
- I Walk Among Zombies Vol. 2
- Karakara
- Karakara 2
- Koikatsu Party
- Love’s Sweet Garnish
- NEKO-NIN exHeart
- NEKO-NIN exHeart 2
- Nekopara Vol .1
- Nekopara Vol. 2
- Nekopara Vol. 3
- Ne no Kami – The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto
- Ne no Kami – The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto Part 2
- Re;Lord 1
- Seven Days with the Ghost
- Sex & Gun VR
- Super Naughty Maid
- Super Naughty Maid 2
- The Ditzy Demons Are In Love With Me
- VR Kanojo
The games listed above were also linked to in a Steam forum thread by Rigolax, who pointed to the SteamDB entries for each title, which does show that they’ve been banned or blocked in Germany.
As explained by Rik67 in the Nukige group discussion thread…
“As Germans like me know, Valve needs to implement a proper age-verification system because as we all know, those are pornographic titles that are illegal to be sold to minors under 18 years, as written by German law, and thus Valve are in breach of this law, as those pornographic titles were sold publicly, even to minors who have the Adult filter on. Games such as Mirror, Meltys Quest and others continue to the sold publicly without proper age-verification.
“But instead of implementing such fair age-verification, Valve instead takes them down from the German Steam-Store upon the wishes of the institute which ordered it, while the remaining aforementioned titles continue to be sold, but it will only be a matter of time before they are taken down also.”
Since January 25th they’ve already expanded the number of games being blocked in Germany, as detailed in the list by Rigolax.
Apparently more and more 18+ games will be blocked in Germany on Steam until Valve implements a proper age verification system.
Some have attempted to contact the Medienanstalt Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein responsible for enforcing the bans by either contacting them through the official website or through their Twitter account but it’s unlikely anything will be done.
