Wendy Movie Puts A Race-Swapped Spin On Peter Pan

Race-swapping isn’t just exclusive to Netflix shows like The Witcher or the upcoming series The Letter For The King, it’s a common theme in almost every major movie hitting theaters, even indie flicks like Wendy. The Fox Searchlight film features a bunch of kids who run away from home on a train and take a boat to an island where they crown a little black boy Peter Pan.

The movie follows Wendy and the lost boys as they venture far away from their home to a seemingly abandoned island.

There they role-play out their fantasy on the island, pretending to fight pirates and fly.

You can check out the trailer below.

Visually the movie looks like it borrows from Spike Jonze’s Where The Wild Things Are. The cinematography is very similar, as well as the depiction of tortured joy.

Halfway through the trailer things take a turn when some ruffian sailors appear, but it’s hard to tell what role they play in the grand scheme of things.

There’s also an element of Lord of the Flies present, but it’s hard to tell if that was just the way the trailer was cut together or if that’s going to be a plot point in the film.

Wendy - Howler

As is typical in the merry-go-round of propaganda, expect the Centrists™ to jump to the defense of the film’s intentional race-swapping of Peter Pan, using such excuses as “It’s just a re-imagining!” or “Peter Pan was never explicitly white!” or any number of other excuses that they dole out to encourage the SJW menace to erase and pervert high culture.

Wendy, meanwhile, will hit theaters on February 28th. I doubt this film will make any sort of significant dent at the box office and if it’s woke enough it might even make it on the Get Woke, Go Broke Master List.
